[Hey clorox orange, as the greatest american band once sang GET OVER IT or you will face the same outcome that happened to weed's beloved caliparricats.]
i guess it's a good thing the fans don't play the games
committee chair was an absolute joke rationalizing mtsu over tennessee. said tennessee had a great stretch run but didn't really beat anyone during that stretch (hello? florida, mizzou, kentucky). also said that mtsu beat people on the road and tennessee didn't (note to tennessee schedule makers, set up road games against atlantic sun foes as the committee sees these as quality wins somehow).
tennessee had 9 top 100 wins, mtsu had 1. mtsu's best win was against a team on the 12 line of the bracket. tennessee beat a 3 and two 9's.
i have no problem with the vols being left out on their own merit, but they shouldn't have been left out for mtsu.
i'd say the attendance is a truer way to judge the state of the program
how did lebo work out? fine, there was actually excitement surrounding the program and when he left, shulman used his players to have his best season...it's been downhill from there
no one is questioning John being a good, decent man...but Henry Dickerson was the same thing and didn't get nearly the leash that John has
5-at-10: Tennessee spring football and the Braves
J-Up hit a 86 MPH changeup to the stratosphere
5-at-10: NCAA lessons, UT pro day, and more

congrats to MTSU for proving the committee doesn't know what they are doing
now let's hope UT doesn't lay an egg like UK did last night
5-at-10: Selection Monday (and a little college football because that's who we are)
i'm basing the following off of cbs' rpi
mtsu 0-2 vs. top 100 on the road
ut 0-6 vs. top 100 on the road
mtsu 11-1 vs 100+ on the road
ut 4-1 vs 100+ on the road
mtsu best road/neutral wins: 102, 111, 149, 154
ut best road/neutral wins: 56, 101, 108, 215
frankly, teams don't play on the road in the tournament, so i find looking at those games with enormous weight a little suspect
when you look at the numbers it's pretty clear that mtsu feasted on a poor conference, switch the two teams and you'd see opposite results
in this case it appears that UT was negatively impacted by playing in a better conference....bizarre

Wiedmer: The end should be here and now for Shulman's time at UTC
Henry Dickerson
72-73 overall; 40-38 conference
John Shulman
145-146 overall; 79-82 conference
end of story, his firing is long overdue
got by on lebo's players at first, helped by two home conference tournaments, and the late show distraction
5-at-10: Bubbling Vols, Shulman's end, Butch's fast start and Tiger
where is this poll you keep bringing up?

How well did that senior laden team finish last year, JCM47?
How well attended were the games this year?

don't let the door hit you on the way out, John!
too bad you don't have Jeff Lebo's coattails to ride again this time
5-at-10: Friday mailbag
adios, Shulman!
