Why call it a cage sangaree? Its an institution that helps troubled youth see the light before its to late. If you can teach them right from wrong before its to late then you have succeded. Get them an education and a trade where they can get out and get job. It has got to be nipped in the bud before it gets out of hand. It's not getting and better at all Statistics will show that.

You cannot house them in residental settings. It would never work. Maybe u could if the child was 6 7 8 years old but 15 16 17 year olds? Forget it. There's an old saying u can't teach old dawgs new tricks. But you could if you had the right teacher and he was willing to learn. Again I ask where would the older youths reside. Nashville are you willing to take the responsibility of the trouble youths of today and put them in a place that they could breal out of and go back out on the streets and commit these crimes again.

O1centare ur exactly right. You have these inner city kids that are dominating neighbor HOODS. And until somebody steps up and puts a cap on things it's going to continue to happen. But where should these youths be housed at after commiting these crimes and getting caught? Can someone answer that for me.

Well I am a firm believer in teaching the youth of today the values of life. I think it's great that the state has a rehabilitation institution such as Taft to provide the facilities that is required for the troubled youth to see the light. What I don't understand is why the upper echelon doesn't understand this. My god it doesn't take a rocket scientist understand this. I wonder if Mr Haslam is really seeing the light here. After all we did vote this man in to office. And that was to protect the citizens of the state of Tennessee from and wrong doing and that includes Children.

As long as you have your political big wigs sitting up in Nashville trying to convince themselves that these are children of the future they need to wake the Hell up. These are not children. These are young adults who have no respect for society whatsoever much less for themselves. The children of the times now are dangerous and need to be taught the value of life before they start taking over if they haven't already. I have been reading about an institution in Pikeville "Taft Youth Center" that houses the worst of the worst juvenile offenders in the state. That Mr Haslam and his entourage are wanting it closed down. Common sense is telling you right now Nashville what is going on with the younger generation. No one is wanting to step up to the plate and take notice. Does anyone there have any gonads. What the state of Tennessee needs is a Scared Straight Program. I understand that Taft is fully equipped with the the right educated people and the DCS Officers to handle these "Children". What is it going to take Nashville for sumone to drop these political differences that causes so much trouble and come together as people who are concerned about the future of the state instead of themselves. Nashville get out from behind your big desks and come on out in the streets of this state and really see whats going on with our youth. It's really said that you don't have a clue of whats going and you know what? If You don't wake up and smell the rose's it'll be to late.
