I think the Occupy movement is fantastic and I am very happy that Occupy Chattanooga isn't being forced to relocate. As U.S. citizens we have the right to free assembly. Any violence in other Occupy protests across the country have been instigated mostly by police and the respective mayors of those cities. There's a reason OWS was kicked out of the park in the middle of the night and their was a MSM blackout: the mayor and NYPD didn't want the MSM to capture the NYPD on film. They wanted to be able to spin the facts however they wished. Thank goodness for things like Twitter and Youtube or else those tactics would work to keep the facts from being known.

It's time that corporations and the top 1% pay higher taxes. The majority of large corporations avoid paying taxes altogether because of loopholes like producing a product in another country. Maybe if we taxed that, they would start producing product here and they'd actually be the job creators that the GOP worships them as. The minimum wage should be increased so people don't have to work 70-80 hours a week just to be able to keep their head above water. The American dream never really existed (Boomers need to realize that their childhood was abnormal in respect to the economy) and I'm not naive enough to think we'll ever reach a point in which it is possible in my lifetime, but something needs to be done about economic mobility. You can't live on the wages from one minimum wage job because it doesn't pay enough and most of them won't even hire you full time so you get enough hours. There is a lot more I want to say and I could write several thousand words on the subject, but I think that's a bit much for this little comment box. I will say to anyone who thinks that Occupiers should just get a job: many of them already do and if they don't, here is a quote from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia about the phrase "get a job."

"Oh get a job. Just get a job. Why don't I strap on my job helmet and squeeze down into a job cannon and fire off into Jobland where jobs grow on jobies?!"
