I agree with Favors. Though the teacher's union has over stepped its bounds by getting into politics outside of education (I know because I'm an ex-teacher) teachers are now getting a raw deal. They are already evaluated to death every year. Required to complete paperwork for the evals and then still having to keep up with their regular duties. A teacher shortage is coming. I will never recommend education as a career until teaher's are treated like the professionals they are. Maybe the parents should homeschool all children for one year to see what it takes to educate someone. If they did I promise you the teacher bashing would stop. BTW, TEA, get out of the politics that don't concern education, like abortion.
If the kids can't behave themselves at the park I'm all for it. If they need to search them like they do at the airport, do it. Why not if it keeps them from killing each other or some person just trying to enjoy the beauty of the park. I say take the park back from the hoods.
Well I guess if they can protest at an American heroes' funeral the Patriot Guard, if invited by the family, still has a right to be there. This is not over yet.
According to the Chattanoogan this Pickett guy probably got what he deserved. Earlier he had been transferred to juvenile court from another court because he had had sex with a female security guard while at work. That's it. Transfer him to juvenile court where the children are. Sure makes sense to me. NOT!!! Should give the wife a medal and fire the one who transferred the husband to juvenile.
This is very good news. Teacher's evaluation paperwork on top of their everyday paperwork was a terrible burden and needed to be changed. The evaluation process was the reason I left teaching after 30 years. I had given my professional life to the education of special students and the system killed my motivation with all the requirements of an unnecessarily burdening evaluation process. Maybe now the local teachers can do the job they are meant to do, be educators instead of admin. clerks. Wish the state would have done this two years ago. I might still be doing what I was meant to do.
We have to say enough is enough here folks. It's time for civil disobedience if you ask me. Time to draw that line in the sand and tell the Gov. not to step over it when it concerns my freedoms. Got a prayer, pray it, right on the 50 yard line. It's easier for those who don't like it to not close their eyes and stick their fingers in their ears than causing all this trouble.

Caution urged on school prayer
The excellencies of the righteous are obnoxious to the wicked, and the main object of their fury. - Charles H. Spurgeon
There's not a more appropriate quote than this for some of the bigoted statements found in these posts.
