Increased lighting will do nothing. Studies have shown that increasing lighting to combat crime is a myth. This only allows the criminals to be able to see their victims better. This is a lame quick fix answer by our tax and spend administration.

This is all about money! Don't let them fool ya. They aren't having road blocks to save lives, they are having them to see how much money they can pull in. As they say...just follow the money. Now catching a drunk driver brings in big bucks too...and if drugs are involved...well then we have hit the jackpot.

I think almost all the poster here have missed the whole point of this story...these children were BORN here and ARE U.S. citizens but are now living in Guatemala. They have the same rights and privileges you do. Basically we are all the sons and daughters of immigrants unless you are 100% native American. Hypocrites!

This is a sad day for the U.S. I remember in the days before the shuttle fired up and the Apollo-Gemini programs wound down the area around the cape was very depressed. Folks were losing their homes and since the cape was the major employer. You could buy houses very cheaply as many were facing foreclosure. I would HATE to think this is being done as a giant land-grab but I wouldn't put anything past our present Chicago-style gangster land government. The property the cape sits on is now worth a lot of money! Just think of all those foriegners who would want to build vacation condo's on it! Good-bye America!

First I also Thank BlueDagger for his comments. There are other factors that are making it difficult for children in the inner city schools to learn. Ms.Thurman might have used a poor choice of words but I don't feel they were meant in a negative way. It seems to me that Mrs. Favors comments are more politically motivated than TRUE concern. If she is so concerned with fighting racism she could address the loud and blaring music I hear coming from autos in the inner city using all manner of racist terms. Ms.Thurman's beef is not with the color of the students skin but with the amount of money being spent there with little results for that expenditure.

Great, a couple of times a year we get to blow off a little steam and now some killjoys want to get rid of that too.
