Todd- should be making a move against the Chinese the further we progress through the track events. Only track athlete I have seen them roll out there couldn't make it over the first hurdle even though he was a former gold medalist in the event. U.S. has been consistently putting their allotment of 3 athletes into the finals of the sprint and hurdle events. Two more for the beach volleyball tonight, Guar-un-teed. Among your list to 'remove' from the games may be Trampoline..which was won by Dong.

As for T.O., nothing can get you motivated to get out there and try and earn some cash like being called out by every national media outlet for being a deadbeat dad. Kinda like Travis Henry, who's looking to get back on the gridiron and make some dough after his stint in the pokey.

I think the German guy gets over it fairly quick and he’s getting razzled by the end of the day. Heck, here in the States he’d already be lined up for the late night circuit. The person who is really going to be answering some serious questions is the guy they caught throwing the bottle, looked like an empty Heinekin, onto the track just before the start of the men’s 100m dash. Not that security was lacking, but this guy was right next to a Dutch judo chick who took him down with a quick shot to the back. Pretty sure it was just the start of painful exit from the stadium.

Trying to throw a few quick names into the pot for the tourney this week. I'll take Woods and Zach Johnson if avail. If not, Woods and Ricky Fowler. then Johnson and Fowler. In that order depending who is still avail. Hell, throw the three names in a hat and pick'em out. Thanks

NBC has definitely fallen WAY short on providing a watchable product. I understand that NBC providing coverage for the US, but some sort of bias should be shown, the way they speak you would expect the US team to sweep every event. I have preferred to watch the streaming of a lot of the events, especially the swimming with the bonus feature of- No commentary. Missy Franklin is not done and should win a few more medals. The short turnaround in yesterday's finals races was brutal and she crushed in the 100 back, its going to take a lot to slow her down.

Awkward moment so far- the Japanese Men’s Gymnastics coach running after the judges to file an appeal with a handful of money. To the untrained eye, it looked very, ummmm, suspicious, as stated by the NBC commentator. But then someone in the know jumped in and it was confirmed that in order to file an appeal required cash. Oops, must have missed that on the rules sheet. And why would anyone try and compete with Kimberly Rhode in skeet shooting. Girl was money with a shotgun and looked every bit the American Sportsman, complete with shooting from the hip.

For the trekkies out there I would throw in William Shatner as Capt. Kirk (though he tried to drop this as TJ Hooker, but when I think of Hooker, I only remember Heather Locklear) and Patrick Stewart as Jean-Luc Picard. Nimoy as Spock could fit too.

Now that I have the morning geekiness out of me, the Olympic jitters/tremens have kicked in. Looking at the schedule, there may be events that have me out of bed before sun-up, which could set a bad precedent around the house. Bring on the games. Todd- where can I get one of those 'Back to Back World War Champions' shirts.

As for Kenny Britt- it comes down to the team hoping their investment comes around at some point, but really, how long does one wait and to what extent are you willing to hurt your team, image, etc. They Lions hit their threshhold earlier this week with Berry, but it too ALOT for them to get there. Britt basically has shown no care for the organization and the fact that he is rehabbing multiple knee injuries should make the choice easier for management as he doesn't seem very dedicated to getting better to help the team.

At some point, the teams themselves have to accept responsibility for the actions that they allow from their players. If they continue to allow said behavior, they turn into the Raiders. The Lions took a step to avoid that this week. The Bengals, well, the jury is still out on the Bengals.

Some phenomenal scores being posted on the board today. With a tourney like this, you could almost have a separate contest for biggest balloon score/round. At this point I will go ahead and consider Angel Cabrera as my 3rd and 4th round spectator after his scintillating +11 today. A-mazing. Watching the highlights yesterday, I have to say that this could be my favorite golf tourney to watch, if only because it makes the best of them look human (see big Phil) and makes the winner really earn it. Not to mention that the leaderboard has the ability to shuffle like none other. And tell me it wasn’t hilarious watching Phil lose a ball that landed about 10 ft away from him after hitting off the lip of the bunker.

Todd, sorry but wasn’t much on the Beast Light, was more of a Natty light man during those days. Granted this was perpetuated by being able partner with three friends at $5 each to get a keg,but hey, all part of College Economics 101 baby!

And get Coco Crisp in there with Milton, they could be a nice pair to throw together.

Talk about a ratings bombshell, that house could definitely provide some quality action. Jeter’s pursuit of Lindsey and Lolo would be worth the price of admission. A few that could help provide a toxic mix to any season of the 5@10’s House of Misfit Toys: Sean Avery (This guys is just a total nutcase that would drive anyone, esp Tebow, bananas), Jon Daly(I know he’s had his own show, but then again, so has TO), and Clinton Portis (He could be a different character everyday).

Ahh the lost time that was the college experience. You don’t know the summer time sports lull until you've sat and watched America’s Cup racing. Once the layers were peeled back, we were looking forward to the next days pairing, and like good college boys, were able to make it a drinking activity (which aids in learning the rules of any new sport)

Great lists and staches..have to jump in with a few..Rip Taylor, Salvador Dali, Craig Stadler, and Geraldo have all sported some great lip cover. Feel bad for the Chaplin mustache legacy as it was essentially squashed after Hitler's romp through Europe. However, MJ has attempted to bring that look back in his new Haynes commercials. Probably would take someone of Jordan's stature to resurrect that style.

For the weekend's fun, I will take> P Harrington, Dufner, Oosthuizen, Angel Cabrera, and R Goosen.

I do not envy Emmert and the task ahead of him. He will earn his paycheck on this one. First of all, this is not the run of the mill investigation that he and his group normally encounter. Details will be overwhelming and it will take a toll on all involved on multiple levels. Second, he is in a no-win situation. No matter what the eventual outcome of their investigation is, the results will be scrutinized from top to bottom for years and years, everyone will have an opinion, and it has the potential to be a career ender. Not fun.

Of 9s list of 4, I would say that they beat South Carolina and Florida. They are going to catch SC with a run game and not much else right now on offense. Should be able to stick in this game, but the game is in SC so that stinks. Florida will be looking for something to get going on offense, and without an established QB, they could struggle. If UT is on their game, they could get the Gators on their heels and that might just be enough.

And in an effort to offset the silly hat selection ceremony, Reuben Foster has not added some Auburn ink. Apparently he has added the Auburn helmet sticker to his forearm to show he is serious about heading to Tiger country. Guess there's no turning back now...well there is, but he would look really silly putting on another helmet with that on his arm.
