Let the bidding wars begin! No sense in standing up straight and buttoning up our pants just yet - reassume the position you Hamilton County and TN taxpayers.

Mr. Hemann used this whole episode to his advantage very effectively. One only had to Google his name and look at his Linked In profile to know that there was almost no way he was going to leave his current position for the same money. Looks like he is a native of NC, went to college there, and has raised his family there. He seems like a good guy and was probably very qualified for the job, but at the end of the day he did a masterful job at getting a $12,000 bump in his Salisbury salary at the expense of a lot of wasted time by Red Bank.

Wow! It is only going to take 2 years to pay for itself when considering the airport's portion. That only leaves 41 years for the federal taxpayer's money to start making a profit! Genius!

Why not just leave the Jeep there? No sense in spending any more money on this recovery or risking injuries or death. It's obviously a terrible accident or suicide and nothing can be gained from this. Even if they found evidence of any paint trading, how could anybody prove who did it.

How can it make sense to camp out all week just to save a hundred bucks on a TV? If these video game geeks would have spent a fraction of that time working a minimum wage job, they could made hundreds of dollars to spend on anything they wanted.

Stopped him for not wearing a seatbelt?? Please! Sounds like Mr. Crawford's cousin Colan wasn't getting his cut of the shine running.

Before the recent renovations when I visited Hamilton Place Mall, I always had flashbacks to the 80s and "Hamilton Place Hair". Even the piped in music that included Duran Duran and Cyndi Lauper created a type of time machine. It's hard to believe that CBL with its corporate offices next door would have allowed their "flagship" mall to go this long without investing in its upkeep.

Hopefully at their ceremony yesterday, there wasn't any talk with their political buddies about resurrecting their plan for a special 1% mall tax.

By the way, if you want to see what the roads used to look like before the mall as Littlefield mentioned, take a drive down Igou Gap - if you dare.

Before I started reading this article, I knew it was going to be another "Global Warming" fluff piece. I'm surprised that there wasn't a quote saying that "This was Bush's Storm Outbreak". My prediction for the next big weather disaster for the Chattanooga area is a big ice storm. Blame that on "global warming"!

The Occupy's approval rating is actually below Obama's rating. Shouldn't the headline read, "Nearly two-thirds of the Public Disagree with the Protests"? These people absolutely have right to protest, but what is their realistic, ultimate goal?

You would think that a retired Chrysler executive would be fighting for government bailouts for the distillery, not the other way around.
