To Justin Owen, President, Tennessee Center for Policy Research: PLEASE DO THROW ME THAT ROPE!! Perhaps a nice percentage of your salary would do nicely. To Marcy Mancini, Director, Tennessee Citizen Action: Thank you for your compassion and support of the thousand of long term unemployed Tennesseans!! To the rest of you naysayer Republicans who want to throw the long term unemployed off your ship: The middle finger of my right hand is thrown up in greetings to ya!!!! Have a nice day!!

"Sewell said the city should look into conference calling so absentee councilmen can participate when a special meeting is convened" That's hawgwash Sewell! If the city doesn't have money to provide for it's citizens, then the city doesn't have money for conference calling. East Ridge needs councilmen who reside in East Ridge FULL time!

@potcat: It has been well known in Chattanooga/Hamilton County for many years that the right attorney with the right judge will get you the right verdict. They wear it out on extensions until the cop agrees. Good ole boy network? Favors owed? increase the list, but I would agree with you on this point.

Today I was a witness to Jude Moon's antics. I happened to be in his courtroom with a friend. I saw him dismiss case after case of people who had a citation and at the time of their citation they had no liability insurance but had it at the time they came to court. Dismissed Dismissed Dismissed. Then a very nicely dressed middle aged woman went before him with the same case, a failure to have insurance at time of her citation. She provided the liabilty insurance. Instead of dismissing hers like he had everyone else's he told her that he was going to revoke her drivers license for one year. She asked him to reconsider, explaining that at the time of the citation, she had just gotten this car out of the shop, that it had not been being driven, that she had another car at the time that she had since sold that did have insurance, that she was a single lady on unemployment doing everything she could to find a job and this would cause her hardship. He read her a statement about carrying liabilty and asked her what she did not understand about it. She told him that she understood it when he read it to the courtroom that what she did not understand is why he had dismissed everyone elses. That old goat lowered his head for an extended minute and then told her that he would dismiss it and she could enjoy it for a day until the state revoked them. I felt sorry for that lady. Shame Shame Shame. He more or less told her he was turning her in to the state. How is it fair dismiss for one non violent citizen and not for all.
