I was deaply saddened when I read your article about Earlanger Burn Unit closing their doors. In 1977 I was critically burned and sustained multiple broken bones in a house fire. I am thankful that Earlanger Burn unit was waiting there with their doors open when the ambulance arrived at the hospital. Although I will have to say that it was the most physically painful experience of my life, I know without a doubt that I would not be here today writing this article if they had not been opened. I recieved excellent care with constant attention durning the time I was in the burn unit. I pray a miracle will occur and the hospital will reconsider their decision. A life may depend on it.

Prayerfully, Elizabeth Z. Jones
