Since obama took office 7 more trillion in debt.... When does it stop.? Avoid a crisis today..... But if things arent changed there will be crisis. Get your head out of he sand. You can not borrow to pay off borrowed money. Eventually it will catch up to you. Simple math
Ikiethlu, You just explained why health "care" is expensive. I was explaining why health "insurance" will be expensive. The fact is that health care costs are still rising. The plan the preident put into place for health reform was noble. He worked hard on it. But 2+2 does not equal 3. It cant work. He even said on the first day of the government shut down....
"If anybody else has any ideas about affordable healthcare i am open to them....... But im not negotiating." Bho
Neat, TN is the most dangerous state.... Did anyone look at other states in the top five? New Mexico and Alaska! Here is some facts.... Last year, in the gun less city of the potus, the wonderful Chicago, there were 510 murders. In the whole state of TN there were 388. There were 1927 rapes in Chicago in 2012. 1715 in TN. Dont get me wrong, I know TN has had a big increase of crime. You usually see that in areas where the lower class have difficulty getting into the middle class. But stats based on percentages dont tell the whole story
It's funny how most people in this forum wait on CNN to give them their next idea or talking point. And it's funny how some people refer to fox news to formulate their opinion. But the bottom line is this.... No matter you are extreme left, highly conservative, or somewhere in the middle, the math never lies!
People with pre existing conditions were un able to get insurance before 10-1-13. Before 10-1, insurance companies had policy holders, who paid a premium based on actuary tables, and then they add 15% on top (bc they are in business to make money). That's how premiums are calculated. Now, after 10-1, you are forcing these same companies to take in people who have health problems. They are saying that a person who is 500 lbs, diabetic, had 3 heart attacks, and needs blood pressure meds will pay the same premium as a healthy individual. Even though that person's healthcare will cost a lot more than the healthy individual. So, the insurance companies are going to look at the actuary tables again. They are going to see what the cost of healthcare is. Then they are going to add to it a profit.
No matter how you spin it. Premiums are going up. Pull your head out of you politics and look at simple math. It isn't free! Some body has to pay for it. And it's the people paying premiums
"This ought to bring a smile to all you GOPers: Head Start programs have been shuttered, small businesses can’t get loans and hundreds of thousands of federal government employees are furloughed. But the exclusive gyms available only to members of Congress have remained open throughout the shutdown."
And the president's favorite golf course. But who wants to talk about that? Oh, and death benefits are unpaid to fallen soldiers.
"Unless Congress acts to raise the federal government's debt ceiling, the Treasury Department will run out of the ability to borrow money by October 17. Treasury has said that the cash it now has on hand will run out completely on November 1, leaving the government in essence without money to pay its bills."
Guess what? That's what happens when you spent more than you got! Let's say you make $100 per week. And you spend $100 per week and then you borrow $100 a week. Well eventually you cant borrow anymore.
The government has money to pay the bills. They just cant borrow any more. They are still taking in taxes. They still have money to pay interest on the debt. They just have to figure out what is essential and non essential
Something is going on in africa.....
Brainerd and Brown Acres are going up for sale.... Luken will buy them.
Raano. You misunderstood my info about myrtle or maybe i was not clear. There use to be over 200 courses in myrtle beach. Now, the courses are begging for golfers to come. Every sept and jan we have a group of twenty. The cost is $360 for 4 days 3 nights. It includes 3 rounds of golf, stay at the resort, breakfast, lunch, and even 2 beers a day. When we set the courses we want to play, almost half were closed bc of lack of revenue. This info has nothing to do with gov shut or opening courses. Just wanted to illustrate that almost zero golf courses make money. And yes, the government pays to keep andrews open
Raano, im talking about just grrens fees at all locations i discussed. Cart fees usually run an extra 10-$15. I worked at a golf course from the age of16-22. We had less than 10 club rentals in any given yr. So you dont add club rentals into the equation. 99% had their own clubs. I got the greens fee rate from the andrews website. Im not saying you are lying, im just saying you are ignorant
