all bashing aside for a second, what about this view point: as a Signal parent of a Senior ( or junior for that matter) this would be my viewpoint, this season is toast, with that said we start looking to next year, yes, Tim McClendon has been admirable and i have the utmost respect for this youngster but remember he has been a part of the Signal Mtn football community only since the the latter part of summer ( only about 3 months) I think about all the seniors that have been with the program for 6 years(juniors who have 5), alot of them have played very little, why not let those that have been dedicated the longest play alot, reward them for their hard effort over the years ( the fact is these under recognized players played very little in the blow out games vs. Notre Dame and "senior night"vs CCS) why is the 3 month wonder boy given the same rewards as those that have been through middle school and up... give the true "workers' thier due wages, they have earned it

I'm glad the picture showed only the ribbon and not the shotgun over Jeff Price's shoulder because " if you mess with one man...". why do you think the police that arrested those kids last year before the championship game let them go before they took them in...?

I bet Gossett was chomping at the bit to put a "signal" slant on this article, but unfortunately Signal coudn't "run up the score" against the TSSAA, no gaudy stats to brag about here I hope they Signal players learn at some point that outside of athletics "running up the score" won't work and can't be done in any other area in life Signal will always be "Dazed and Confused"

it looks like you are either for or against Signal, that is usually the case in any controversial situation Signal attracts students and athletes from all over town just like the pretty girl attracts the boys at a party, that will continue, as long as they are legal... so be it (and they usually are) others have a right to question(discuss with TSSAA) the legality of students regardless of the motive, the TSSAA rendered it's decision( twice) you don't have to agree or disagree but we do have to honor it and move forwrd I believe they should cancel the Signal vs Sequatchie game becuase there will be no good outcome, Signal will try and run up the score... Sequatchie is going to be pissed and retaliate, fights will ensue, and there will be a black eye for both teams, and TSSAA will be watching and won't hesitate to act accordingly

smmom, they have declared him illegal, agree or disagree that is the ruling, we all have to live with it, every team that plays Signal Mtn. will be affected by Sigal's action, so there is a reason people have interest, just like any team at any level is interested in whether or not a player plays, Alabama is interested in wheter Tyler Bray is playing, LSU's the honey badger player can't this Saturday either a pretty big deal

It's official TSSAA has denied appeal, probably not a surprise though..... Someone said an appeal has never worked in the past.

How does winning a football game by a large margin even the score ?? All it proves is that Signal Mtn consisting of players that live in the following areas: Signal , lookout mtn, Marion County, Lookout valley, Sequatchie County and the Howard area ( and yes they are there legally) along with a hard nosed coach who does a great job of gettng the most out of their players) are superior in football against Sequatchie County, a team consisting of players all from Sequatchie County and a coach that does a good job but probably not as successful as Signal's coach Signal It would probably be a lot closer game if only players that were from Signal Mountain played, Signal stills win but probably a closer game Signal is always going to attract students from different areas of town due to Signal being a school that has strong community and parent support which produces quality children which produces a quality school, that is just going to be advantage they have over Sequatchie, Bledsoe, Grundy it is just a fact that needs to be accepted Signal doesn't have to prove its superiority, anyone can see that, no score is going to increase their greatness, if Signal truly wants to acheive "true greatness" they may want to show that they don't have to prove their superiority over obvious inferior opponents by being concerned about how many points they put it,

chattVegas, there are opinions on both sides of the fence on whether Signal is innocent or not, just like Casey Anthony or O.J.'s cases, we can respectfully agree or disagree with a verdict it doesn't matter who "turned in who" on any of these or other matters ( their motive is irrelevant as well),
your rational is just like a large corporation that tries to destroy a whistle blower, It's okay to defend Signal but the person that reported that there "might" be something illegal has nothing to do with Signals innocence or guilt, if you have ever seen " crime stoppers" they encourage people to be informants or "rats " as you call it the one who turned them in ( requesting the TSSAA to look into the matter) in no way has a say as to whether the TSSAA finds Signal guilty or not, when Phil Fulmer testified against Alabama, their fans wanted to blame Phil for their own "wrong doings" if I see a suspicious looking person walking around your house do you want me to ignore it and not call "authorities" because you don't want meto be a "rat" because that person might be innnocent beause you had told him to snoop around I wish more people would have the courage to report injustices and wrong doings to help make Chattanooga a better place whatever happened to "Neighborhood Watch" ? It seemed like a good idea to me

Hey "Chattavol06", and maybe nick saban will leave Richardson in the whole game, and set an NCAA record for touchdowns and yards and whatever else because as you say: I just want to see a good team whip another team whose coach (Fulmer) was secretly snooping behind the other team's back to get them in trouble so his sorry team could go to the SEC championship !!
