schools having "above average" playing from areas outside thier school zone ar going to continue to happen a simple solution would be to put the "multiplier rule" on any pulice school that has athletes competing from outside their school zone, Signal has a couple of players that attend from outside the zone because their dads are police officers ( the players are good athletes) the "multiplier rule" currently applies to private schools that play in the public school league, they have to play in a larger classification than what their enrollment show because kids come from all over the city ( by the way just for clarrification, the Private schools that play in public leagues can not offer any type of financial aid to anyone that plays high school sport: teams like Baylor, Mccallie,GPS play in a seperate league Div. II since they provide scholarships ) basically Signal gets that same advantage and thats fine but they should have to compete at a larger division due to this advantage, at the high school level of football, just one or two "outstanding" players can make a big difference for a football team

im pretty sure signal mountain is playing a division over the one they are barely even in. -- not for their regular season games ---- that is only for the playoffs and that was by choice so they didn't have to meet Alcoa who is in their division

Oh wait a minute... Price did take his frustration out on Polk, as Polk was running off the the field at halftime ( they were on offensse and were letting the clock run out) Price evidently didn't like the fact that Polk was joyous ( they held a slight lead) He calls a time out with one second left and makes Polk come back on the field to take a knee for one last play, if any Signal fan can put a positive spin on that one....

Okay I should leave it alone but one last thing, coach price is a smart enough coach to know coaching only gets you so far, he does not shy away from searching for talent (albeit legal ) if you don't believe it ask a certain former coach about the time Price first got into coaching and helped with the basketball team at his alma matter and showed up the first day of practice with a couple of "new kids"( true story), anyway what I don't think he realized when he took the Signal job is the microscope that he would be under, he is not going to conform and it is going to continue to get interesting!!!

well said by all of the above and we should all be able to live by that, Coach Price has never been anything else, he is a very genuine human being especially those that have known him since his playing days, he is what he is, Love him or hate him, you gotta respect that, it's kinda like a northerner, you just gotta accept them, keep in mind however ( whether it is right or wrong ) he does bring with him a big bullseye on his back and everyone is aiming, it just goes with the territory, he does not fly under the radar!!!

"mtndad" I appreciate your response and I hope everyone else on this board will respect it as well, it would be safe to say that everything you referred to can be said about any school and its seniors, all players careers come to end be it elementary , middle, high, college, pros so every athlete is in the same boat, but I do believe that very few other programs share this same philosohy out of respect for the other team when the score doesn't justify it, also there were many "seniors" that played very little until the very end of the game, thank you mtndad because you have helped us to come to a conclusion, and I say this with the utmost sincerety , opposing teams and fans including myself need to quit whining and understand that "Signal Mtn" is a team that is going to play with this philosophy, no problem, by the way, last year and this is a true story(and this is not about boasting about a CCS vistory because CCS has an established program and Signal is still building theirsrs so it is not a put down for Signal, they will continue to improve ) CCS beat Signal in soccer by a very large margin and "I promise": Signal parents were complaining about CCS "running the score up!"

hey "Mtn Dad", Please answer one question, do you support Coach Price's decision to leave his starters in the whole game when they (Signal Mtn) are up by 38 points late in the game? ( and please explain why or why not ) I will respect your answer but no Signal supporters has addressed this specifically and it is what the whole discussion of the article is all about in the first place, everyone wants to keep talkin about the illegal paperwork, that is in another article,we are not trying to debate that, at least "sunnyday" did give his reasoning on supporting Coach Price's decision to keep the starters in ( it was "Senior night" and I will respect his answer ) but I want to know what you and other SM supporters think about leaving starters in for entire games( he has also done it in previous games as well as his other coaching jobs), it's okay to speak honestly ,I promise I am not going to lead you into the mis-filed paperwork issue, no more talk of that, bottom line: Coach Price's somewhat "not too good" reputation was established long before Signal was in existence, if you don't believe me talk with area officlals and other coaches,it truly is not a Signal Mtn community/school issue but if one continues to embrace these antics ( assuming you agree with them) you become an "accessory to the crime" and share in the guilt
