Spy-Tour prize money sky rocketed, endorsement deals, TV contracts, swing instructor profiles all became bigger and mainstream with Tigers emergence. Fitness in golf was unheard of aside from Player and Langer now it's essential.Tiger played a huge role starting with two wins after turning pro in 96' in making golf the colossal money grab it is today.

That Masters win was the torch that lit the bonfire. Maybe you didn't see it even though you were there but it happened. GG

JG-Color themed nicknames, now there is a Rushmore. Red-headed stepchild (I am both). Blue balls should be on There. (Heard it's awful)

T Woods emphatic trouncing at the 97' Masters changed the sport. GG

JG- Mailbag. Can you please initiate a referendum that the hairy-unkept-wolfman-earthbeard era is now extinct in sports? I blame Johnny Damon and the 04' Red Sox for starting this hideous trend but 10 years is long enough. It has infiltrated youth sports now as well. The goalie at my sons last soccer game was a dead ringer for Artis Gilmore

  1. (From a guy in the office) Can we name a 'if he just stays healthy' mid season category award in any sport in honor of Derrick Rose. Give it to Romo, Matt Stafford, maybe Tiger.

GG Ps. We all like the 5 at 10 at work.

JG-

A late entry for who lost the weekend: Ted Bishop former President of the PGA of America.

I didn't find his comments particularly offensive, but to say what he said, in that forum? This from a man who constantly reminded us that he represented the 27,000 elected men and women who serve as PGA professionals.

Apparently not Ted..enjoy your retirement.

JG-In 1979 as a young Bronco fan my family celebrated my birthday at the old Mile High Stadium, Broncos v Patriots. Denver won 40-10 or something great. During halftime Mork came out with all the cheerleaders and he too was dressed in full cheerleader gear. He was hollering ' we are gonna win one for the zipper' the whole time! He was a beautiful human..

JG- So no love for the ladies this week at #2? I have played it twice and must say its probably the hardest course I have played to date. Hopefully Local gal Brooke P has a good showing. The hubs told me you were spotted at The Honors this week, just curious what did you shoot and where would you rank your experience there? (It's in my top 5).

JG-

Since it's final 4 weekend and Masters week(almost), what is your personal Rushmore of places you've played? Also who would make up your dream foursome? Assuming your assignment entails traveling to Augusta next week dont forget plenty of sunscreen!

JG,

It can't suck to bad to be a Manning today. Rumor has it 3 Mannings were spotted on the first tee at Augusta National yesterday. We should all be so lucky. I heard you may have played there once or twice, what sort of numbers did you post?

I'm a Colorado girl so like any Bronco fanatic this week is crazy! Just curious, when your not covering/working an event what is your favorite place in Chattanooga to take in a big game?

Also what's your favorite Superbowl moment?
