We all need to assume more of the responsibility for our own health care. At days end all this has to be paid for and it comes out of the taxpayers pockets. Instead of gun buy backs by the police how about a guns for health care program?
The rate that tuition increased the last 20 years or so has nearly eliminated the student that can work there way through school. Looks like it would take someone 12-15 years to graduate without debt, that is if they already have a pretty good job, or live with parents...etc.
I graduated after 7 years in school while working full time without debt. Three years later in 1982 while still working entered grad school with a tuition cost of $11,500.00 per year, same program is now at $60,000.00 per.
It's time to wonder how the long term will treat some of today's students. Will they be able to afford a home of there own or ever buy a new car, with student loans hanging over there heads?

The lines of responsibility and accountability between teachers and administration blur when funding increases are debated. It all ways sounds like they would rather measure school success by the total funding they get. The more money spent the better the schools... lets just go with total dollars and omit all that bothersome testing.
If Lamar and the rest in Congress had to live with the health insurance or medicare problems the rest of us survive with I suspect things would change for the better and quick.
Social Security would probably benefit by enrolling Congress as well. The savings from dumping there retirement system wouldn't hurt the budget either.

If these super parents that saved Normal Park were rezoned to schools in there own neighborhoods, surely they could save more schools nobody wants to attend.
