Bobby you have come a long way since the Bencor days. But if you remember things so well then you remember when VW first announced coming here the pay was going to average $22 an hour, instead of the $15 and change it is now. And you were dead set against an union, why. The jobs it VW are better paying than a lot of jobs here but they could be better. Why are you against Chattanoogans making a better living? Right to work should be right to work non union or union as people see fit without influence from elected officials. I wonder how the vote would had you not said the SUV would be built here only if the union was defeated, which was a lie at the time according to VW officials. Or Haslam withdrew the 300 million to get the plant here. Maybe without all the crap we could have got the motor plant or the aldi plant.

Health care in this country is only as good as ones ability to pay. Haslam would rather let people suffer and die then sign up for Medicaid expansion. And this sick puppy wants reelected? I would not vote for him!

just wonder what this will end up costing the taxpayers? but I bet VW will be more selective when hiring employees and hire pro union.

I beg to differ, It is in to attack the President about everything that is wrong, much which he can do nothing about some support of congress, and only a fool would say congress has tried to fix any of our country's problems in the last 4 years. And another thing much more of this tea party crap and this country will cease to exist in the near future.

ok, back to VW, They wanted the UAW in this plant. They deal with unions all over the world. And as for VW being run by incompetent people remember they are the second largest auto maker in the world. Any incompetence was shown by Corker, Haslam, and other elected officials. They were so intent to keep the UAW out of Tennessee they were willing to lose the addiction at VW. And then in an effort to get the workers to vote against the UAW Corker lied and said if the UAW is voted down, they would announce in two weeks the suv line would be built here. If VW chooses Mexico instead of Chattanooga maybe it is because of our screwball leaders. B.T.W. the plant in Mexico is union and the UAW is already in the state of Tennessee at eight other plants.

Question: the term "domestic partners" does it just mean gay couples or does it include straight couples living together too? Or are they covered now?

Curtis, it's like Bobby said anything worth having is worth paying for. Even you know if you want a car to get around in you will need to pay for one or need to walk. Bobby just wants to make sure you have a road to drive on.

Howard Baker was a true gentleman and statesman, the type of person we need in Washington today. How on earth did we end up with this bunch of bums in congress that put their personal and political agendas ahead of the good of the country?
