Another thought.. What does the 5@10 think about just letting Tony Jones take over the reigns. If pearl leaves then he is gone also. If both are gone then we will lose our pipeline with the Atlanta Celtics AAU team and lose potential recruits..
As for Bruce Pearl, I think his days are numbered. I don't want him to go, but I think mike Hamilton will do it anyway. UT hoops better not go in the tank, or hamilton is next.
I agree that Bruce Pearl was a good hire. He transformed the UT basketball program from doormant to relevant overnight. I hate what Coach Pearl did, but i would hate to see him be fired and UT basketball goes down the tank with mediocre seasons like UTC has every year. If he is let go, Mike Hamilton better make sure the next guy is just as good or better, or his job is next.
I totally agree that college basketball is watered down. This is the first year i can remember that i actually never got into it. Maybe because UT was so inconsistent. Ussually, after football season, i am right there for college basketball, but not this year. The regular season is just not important. Only march madness is. Unlike college football, where every game matters, college basketball is meaningless in regular season. However, march madness is THE BEST! What do you think college hoops should do to make itself more relevant?
I would like to thank the 5@10 for mentioning UTC hoops and the fact that 16-16 is not acceptable to some fans. I am one of those fans. UTC used to be good when Jeff Lebo was the coach. But when he left, the administration wanted to hire, not the best coach, but a coach that wouldn't leave for a bigger job. I still think that's why Coach Schulman is still the coach. UTC has the best arena in the SOCON and the best city. There is no reason we shouldn't be alot better than horrible-mediocre every year!
