jay, what are you basing your "public perception" on - message boards, call in shows? im a huge vol fan as is most of my family and close friends and none of us are too worried about how long it is taking. i understand that there is a recruiting element, but as far as im concerned, it should take as long as it takes to find the right guy. i would rather it take six months to find the right guy for the job than two weeks for a bad hire. the consequences of the latter would be heavier than any consequences suffered by the former, in my opinion.

proctor, thanks for the info; i did not know that. when i was in class the "toyota way" was always hyped and, as it was fed to us, seemed like all the credit went to the japanese for TQM.

fivel, sorry no time to comment on the 510 today just a quick interjection on FE's comment. Total Quality Management was actually a japanese concept (Ishikawa at Toyota). Deming just brought their model to the western world, at least that is my limitied understanding. Please correct me if Im wrong, but either way an excellent analogy.

looks like UT caught a break in avoiding LSU and the pigs, but having FL and GA out of the hole will be tough. Still thinking on the "of 2011" question.

umm...pretty sure we did divide the country into districts to elect Obama (and every other president). Only difference is they call them "states".

memphis, so would you support a law that also allowed grocery stores to sell liqour? what about allowing amazon to sell beer and liquor? by the way, im not trying to sound like a smartass, just asking a question for the sake of debate.
