Im not "taking a shot", Manning's accomplishments are great, however Moctastic is correct, 16 games plus rule changes have helped him be a stat-machine. You cant overlook his failure in playoffs and Super Bowls. and if you want to judge him on stats then the 24 playoff interceptions and 10-12 playoff record and bad Super Bowl performances have to be judged. I know we all love the New Orleans native, since he played at UTK, but Brady and Montana just perform better in the big games

"Fredo, you broke my heart, you broke my heart" "Michael we are bigger than US Steel" " I never asked the question, because this is the life we have chosen" "If anything in this life is certain, if history has taught us anything, it's that you can kill anyone." - all from Godfather II , my favorite of the 3 Godfathers

Nationally i think Slive will go down as the picture of College athletics greed. If the worst happens and mega-conferences ruin what is best about college athletics, Slive will be viewed as one of the bad guys. There has been too much of "I will take my ball and go home" attitude. And to the public it doesnt matter that that is what he was hired to do, he still is view as a greedy, bully and all that is wrong with college athletics. He has helped produced millions for individuals ( like himself ) and then he tries to take the "high" road and wants to give athletes a tiny, in the scheme of things, cost of attendence. He likes to blame the NCAA when people mention greed when he is the epitome of greed.

I also forgot to mention, it was kinda interesting, in a bad way to watch some of the Hillbilly Vol fans at the UTK-UTC game stand up and dance to the Lil Jon hip-hop music of "Third down for what" on EVERY 3rd down. . . . .One Vol fan next me said "You know I think that Lil Jon is the grandson of Johnny Majors" . . . I just agreed with him and shook my head

I went to Mocs-Vols game, heard some interesting comments from Vol fans. Here is the top 10 : 1. " if we play like this we will kill Bama " 2. " I sure hope this here rain don't mess up my mobile home " 3. " the reason we lost to Florida was because of Fulmer " 4. " those Chattanooga fans actually went to school at UTC , didn't know you could do that ? " 5. " the reason we lost to Florida was because of Kiffin " 6. I'm so mad my wife forgot to wash those orange checkerboard overalls I wanted to wear today" 7. "The reason we lost to Florida was because of Dooley" 8. " they shouldn't ask our players to go to class, they need to practice " 8. " I'm so glad we bought these season tickets even though I won't be able to buy anything for my kids for Christmas, but at least I got to watch that big victory over Utah State" 9. " hey man where did you get that hat with those Smokey ears, I got to get one of those " 10. " I know I said this every year for the last 10 years, but UT is going to be great NEXT year "

Yeah, poor ole Gurley. He was on full scholarship ( worth over $50,000 a year ), with all the meals he could eat and those fancy juice bars and training tables. The athletic department gave him thousands of dollars worth of gear to wear, sweats, shorts, shoes. He got a $1,500 a semester stipend and $5,750 in Pell Grant. He had access to any summer job he wanted in the state of Georgia. . . .yeah he had it rough, bless his heart.. . .No it's all the fault of the NCAA and his own greedy school. yeah their fault he screwed over his teammates and broke the rules

Great story on Derrick Lott, good job Hargis. Nice to see a story with a college athlete, that is making the best of his situation. Really tired of hearing about the Todd Gurley's of the world who are just greedy and stupid and then have the press blame the rules, NCAA, etc.

Bushleague I would also bet you that Worley runs for less than 100 yards also. . . . And that Vol fans will say after a victory over an over-matched MOCS team " Next year UT is really going to be good" and " If we had played like this we would have beat Florida " . . . . Or after losing to Bama, Ole Miss, Ky, etc. " I blame this loss on the law firm Of Fulmer, Hamilton, Kiffin, Dooley "

WilliamRscott- of the last 7 hires in the SEC ( The greatest-conference-that-ever-lived-of-all-time ) only 1 school ( Arkansas ) hired a coach with success at a Big 5 school as a head coach.
