taytay2011: The fact that you put multiple exclaimations and question marks, and capitalized words as if you're scraming at us, is the reason Signal Mt. folks think you're jealous. Who in the world gets that upset over what happens with another school unless they've got serious emotional problems? As for you claiming Signal Mt. parents hit and kicked students, I don't know what you're talking about. I do know, however, that when my two kids were in marching band at Signal, they had curses screamed at them from parents on the other team, and my son was hit in the head with an empty coke bottle when a parent from South Pittburg threw it at him from the stands while he was on the field marching. I have yet to see Signal Mt. parents or students treat others with the lack of sportmanship that has been cast at us. Furthermore, when people get on this public site to accuse and condemn Signal Mt., when Signal Mt.'s only sin is in WINNING, then jealousy is the reason for it. If you don't live or go to Signal Mt., then you don't know us and it's frankly none of your business. The fact that you get on here just to accuse us, well, yes, you're jealous. JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahhahahaha

Sandstorm66 - pardon me, dummy, but there are many blacks who play football at Signal Mt. and who live and work up here. You obviously have no knowlege of the Mt. You speak racists terms and spew out racial hatred against an entire community you don't know. As for our "lily-white bubble", I guess we could all bus our kids to the projects so that they can take drugs and get shot by street gangs and hustlers. The only bubble that needs to get busted is the crime and drug infested parts of town. Pardon us if we try to live good, clean lives on the Mt. I certainly make NO apology for being white, for living on Signal, or for our school. You're a racist who is jealous. It doesn't get much uglier than that.

For the person who said the principal should be fired along with the coach, you obviously don't know the principal. I have three kids in Signal High, and I have never seen a principal behave in a more upstanding, kind-hearted, and humble manner. No school has such a good person for a leader as he is. However, though my kids have never had Coach Price for anything, they do tell me he has a reputation for being a pain in the butt. I do not believe the principal had anything to do with this. He is FAR more interested in the IB level academics and getting that school to a pre-college level than he will ever be with the football program. His aspiration, which he has stated many times, is to see every graduating student from Signal go to collge. He cares about these kids and this school deeply. No, Signal Mt. does not deserve to have this good, honest, Christian leader taken from us. Those making snide remarks about people on the Mt., when you don't know us, need to look in the mirror. You claim we're snobs, but you're the one slandering us on a public site. I don't call that being good at all. Whatever school zone you represent, I feel sorry for the kids there who will grow up thinking your hatfulness toward others is the way to be. You probably learned it from your parents who learned it from theirs.

The coaches and administrators aren't on a public site slandering and verbally abusing those kids. And whatever their faults, they go to work every day trying to support and help that school. You're an idiot to make that association all because of this minor infraction over silly football. You people are opportunists, always wanting a way to slam others. Frankly, what happens at Signal Mt. High, for most of you on here slandering them, is none of your dadgum business. Go slander your own school's children, if that's all you're made of, you child abusers. Devils.

Any adult that would attack the heart and spirit of an entire school full of kids, mock them, gloat at their misfortune, accuse them all, and take away the profits of all their hard work, is nothing but a child abuser - a child abuser of other peoples' children. But Jesus said, "He who gloats at the misfortune of another will himself be punished." God has a day for all you adults snearing at these minors who have done you no wrong.

If there is one place in Chattanooga that needs to go through charm school, it's Erlanger. When I was giving birth and was in labor there and crying in pain, the nurse told me repeatedly to shut up and get over myself. When I worked there in Medical Records, I finally had to quit because of the blatant, cruel reverse racism I received. I was taken there a couple of weeks ago from a back injury, and the ambulance driver had to tell some male nurse there to stop making fun of me. Erlanger stinks, but I'm glad they're starting to admit they have people problems because boy do they!

chioK_V: My kids are all in High School and their work is much harder than anything I had at their age. I was in college before I had to take what they're taking right now. In fact, some of their classes are college level courses that they're getting college credit for. This is a vast improvement in education in the high schools today. I don't know what you're talking about, claiming America is dumbing down its students. But, all I can is, you must be a black person. What blacks got a "running start on" (to use your words), was blaming literally everybody else for their problems. No, ALL of America didn't come in and ruin Red Bank schools.

My parents went to Red Bank in the forties and fifties and I went there in the seventies and eighties. It was considered a good school and it was given a School of Excellence award. Red Bank is now half black. A couple of years ago, the school lost its Federal and State standing. It had to offer parents the option of having their kids bussed out of Red Bank to other schools, just so they could be assured of a decent education. All those decades, Red Bank was white and considered a school of excellence. Then it became half black and it became a Federal and state disgrace. Don't believe me? It's public information, easily investigated. What a shame that white kids have had their school brought to this condition. In order to "help" the blacks, the whites have to be harmed. I think this crap needs to stop. If black kids are so wonderfully educated, then let them prove it by lifting up their own schools instead of tearing down ours. Prove it! What HAS been proven and is verifible is the opposite.

Clandahlina: Ms. Thurman wasn't calling inner city youth slaves, you dope. She was saying that even the slaves two hundred years ago were willing to learn, so why can't these 2011 black kids put forth some effort? They're given every opportunity to make something of themselves, but just look at how they act. And Ms. Thurman is absolutely right. As for "in the closet racists", go look in a mirror. You're not innocent you accuser.
