I have a feeling that physicians DO tell the parents that the child needs to reduce his or her weight but the parents, often overweight themselves, ignore or deny the concern and continue to buy junk food and promote inactivity.

I agree with Ms. Randolph that one would think more parents would be concerned about sending their children to failing schools and request a transfer. Perhaps it doesn't "speak well" at all about these failing schools.......but it certainly does speak volumes about the parents who have children in these eight failing schools.
