Paraphrased from a recent study:

Researchers at Farleigh Dickinson University (snobs no doubt) updated a study they had conducted in late 2011, and concluded, again, that people who only watch Fox News are less informed than all other news consumers.

“The largest effect is that of Fox News: all else being equal, someone who watched only Fox News would be expected to answer just 1.04 domestic questions correctly — a figure which is significantly worse than if they had reported watching no media at all. On the other hand, if they listened only to NPR, they would be expected to answer 1.51 questions correctly; viewers of Sunday morning talk shows fare similarly well. And people watching only The Daily Show with Jon Stewart could answer about 1.42 questions correctly.”

So, well duh - it’s no surprise at all that people who watch Faux News are less (mis) informed than those who derive their news from multiple sources, or know how to read. So how then do we explain that those who do rely on the mighty Fox Propaganda machine only for their understanding of the world, score “significantly worse than if they had reported watching NO MEDIA AT ALL?

Yep, you’re right, it’s Twilight Zone stuff, like reversing hands of time and causality itself. Devolution: Thy name is Fox News.

TOES02800,

MickeyRat is correct. Social security has a $2+ trillion surplus. It could pay out every benefit owed for the next 26 years. It is not going bankrupt and it is not going broke. It IS self-financed, cannot borrow, spends less than one percent on its administrative costs, has a surplus, continues to grow and is off-budget. It does not contribute to the federal deficit or the debt.

You have been conned by the likes of Wall St. financier Peter Peterson, and the media is too lazy (and too stupid) to check out the facts for themselves, so they simply repeat what Peterson tells them about Social Security. It’s BS!

Republicans want to “fix” an entitlement program that is not broken so that bankers have access to a new stream of investment revenue. You cannot make up a more sinister idea than this one.

Nope. You’re dead wrong.

whats_wrong_with_the_world believes,

Mitt Romney is the Michael Dukakis of the GOP. Gonna be a long year.

I think Obamney is more like the John Kerry of the GOP.

Eh, I’ll have to agree with Blackwater48. A tempest in a teapot.

I don’t think the Obama campaign should have apologized or explained anything. Normal women...those without servants, those who have to work outside the home because if they don't there may not be a home...those women (and most Americans) totally understand where Rosen was coming from.

If anything, it further hurt Romney's standing with Joe six pack, because yet again he reinforces the fact that the Romney’s are completely out of touch with real Americans.

Anne Romney has led a highly privileged existence. Her husband had enough money to allow her to live her life in whatever way she wanted. She speaks for no women other than herself and those of her class.

If Obama is going to be blamed for everything issuing from the mouths of any democrat across the country, then it’s fair to say that everything Rush Limbaugh says can be blamed on Romney.

Another good cartoon Clay.

As I was saying. See post from yesterday @ 10:11 a.m

A short interview with Alan Dershowitz…on the lefty talking head show ‘Hardball ‘no less.

If you don’t know who Dershowitz is, “he is one of the most distinguished defenders of individual rights and the best-known criminal lawyer in the world"

"Opinion, emotion and supposition v. fact applies as much to the argument in favor of "stand your ground" as it does to the determination of what is/is not fact in this case."

How?

MTJohn said, "Would that include the perpetrators of "stand your ground laws"?

Apples and oranges. An interesting use of verbiage though. Equating 'stand your ground law' with something ostensibly illegal or criminal is pretty slick but is of course a logical fallacy...a false dichotomy if you will.
