I don't think Republicans are using double speak. I certainly am not. My main irritation came when the White House press secretary actually mocked Palin by writing grocery items on his hand. How immature and unprofessional. Definitely nervy when his President can't speak without a teleprompter. As I said before, a few simple words on the hand just doesn't compare.
I am conservative, but I am not a fan of Sarah Palin. That being said, though, I do not see why everyone has made such a huge deal about her writing a couple of topics on her hand. She still gave her speech and did it, it seems, without lots of notes or a teleprompter. She simply wrote a few words on her hand to keep her on track. Obama reads most of his speeches verbatim from a screen. You simply cannot compare the two. I don't think Obama could function with just a few words on his hand.
I always found Tiger to be very arrogant, but he at least seemed like someone who was straight-laced and a good family man. This goes to show that no one ever knows what goes on behind closed doors and that we place too much importance on celebrities. Many people looked up to him for his golf skills, and I'm sure they still do, but ethics and morals are much more important... he is surely lacking those, so he's no hero to me. I feel genuinely sorry for his wife and children. What a disappointment.
Fox News is pretty much the only news channel I watch... that being said, I do NOT watch Hannity or Glenn Beck. I find that they are too extreme in their views. Other than them, I feel like the majority of voices on Fox are fair and balanced, unlike what I find on the other channels. The fact that the White House is going out of their way to try to turn people away from Fox is absurd-- what are they so afraid of??? Viewers not getting the biased, Kool-Aid drinkers' views from the other networks? Viewers getting the truth??? GASP!
Why don't we head even more toward socialism and just ban Fox News altogether?
Good thinking, girls! Seriously, who is hurt by these signs?? I get the whole separation of church and state thing, but who is being hurt here?? Along a little bit different line, but similar-- I'd much rather see this than the constant videos coming out of little kids at school singing Obama praise music! That's just getting downright ridiculous.
Notice that most schools call it "winter holidays" or something to that effect. It's just ridiculous. Can't call it Christmas Break or anything of the sort. Just plain sad...
I find this cartoon to be totally tasteless and baseless. I agree with Lightnup's comment:
"My goodness how the left obsesses about racism. Why can't they see that we are doing exactly what MLK wished for in his "I Have a Dream" speech: judging Obama by the content of his character rather than the color of his skin."
I find it very sad and disheartening that whites are not allowed to disagree with, find fault in, or question, President Obama without being labeled a racist. NO president is perfect, and there have been plenty of people who criticized each and every president in the past. No one labeled those people racists; they were just expressing their opinion. Now that we have a black president, it's only because of racism. What a pathetic argument.

Funny cartoon, by the way!
The Compromise
dss,
Perfect way to address the whole thing!! Who can argue with that?
The Trapeze Act
Interesting that only Reform is spelled right side up. House and Senate both have their words upside down.

The New Banner
OllieH, Considering this country was founded on Christian principles, a nation under GOD, I don't think it would be quite the same thing!
