Recall group, give up! It's not going to happen!
Its a shame that the Times Free Press has to make this story the Headlines of Sunday's newspaper. More National Enquirer stories from the TFP!
Allison 12, the LLC has nothing to do with taking the website on further after Mayor Littlefield's term. They can do that whether its a LLC or not! The LLC was simply there as legal protections. Read the audit report Allison 12.
Allison 12 I'm certaily bias after seeing & being a citizen supporter of there department. Possibly if you'd seen all the hard work & effort that goes into what there department is all about, you may feel the same way!
Allison 12 I'm all for the truth! Hightower needs to report all of facts though. This website was created to assist in marketing Education, Arts & Culture. They possibly went about establishing the website the wrong way, however it was will all with good intentions. Not to make money on taxpayer dollars. This department has very little marketing dollars. Checkout the city budget to confirm.
I've worked with both of these ladies and they do a lot for our city, with very little credit.
Cliff Hightower you continue to put your spin on this story. You start out by saying, "for profit website publication". Give me a break! Hightower you need to read some of the other online articles from your brothers & sisters in journalism, and see what they wrote. You especially need to read chattanoogan.com. You could pickup some good tips, to become a much better writer for the Times Free Press.
Hightower, read the audit report! They generated "no" revenue, or profit. Didn't even try! Missy Crutchfield told you why they setup an LLC, and the audit report supports that fact, but you continue to "not" want to report that fact. You continue to muddy this story. Report the facts of why they setup an LLC, and quit trying to paint the wrong picture. It possibly wasn't a wise decision for them to setup the LLC for there intent of the website, however that will come out with the mayor and city council. However, Missy Crutchfield & Melissa Turner had nothing but good intentions when the website was launched.
Hightower you've apparently got it out for Missy Crutchfield, and possibly anyone in Mayor Littlefield's administration. No writer or journalist is trying to spin or paint this story in a negative way in Chattanooga right now, but you!
Hightower, I want to give you some suggestions coming from a loyal Times Free Press subscriber. You need to write a story on all of the good things that Missy Crutchfield and her department does for our city. You need to report how hard she works and how she trys to be creative with her department with very little budget. You need to talk about the great EAC programs and events. That's what the readers of the Times Free Press need to hear!
Brighten our day, and give us some POSITIVE NEWS sometimes! Quit trying to turn the great name of the Times Free Press into the National Enquirer!
Allison 12 you clearly don't know what you're talking about! Be Magazine was listed as an LLC, however she didn't set it up that way to make a profit. It was simply done that way to protect her if she was ever sued by something that was put on the site, and therefore she could not be sued her personally. This was given to her at the advice of several attorneys. This Be Magazine website was used as a marketing tool to assist in promoting her department. NO advertising or sponsorships have ever been sold on the website. None whatsoever! The website has also been no secret since its been online since November 2009. The radio show, Speak Out!, she does not own. She is only the host! She is not paid to host the radio show at that. The radio program is an opportunity again, to promote areas of her department. NO TAX PAYER DOLLARS! That's a fact Allison 12! Do your homework before you start making statements, because you don't know what you're talking about.
So, she's generated NO revenue from the website, & NO income from the radio show. So, Allison 12, there's been NO stealing going on! Missy Crutchfield puts in a lot of hours & works hard for her department. I know first hand!
Again, do your homework & get your facts straight Allison 12! You simply DO NOT know what in heck you're talking about!!!!
What is up with the Times Free Press? It's turning into the NATIONAL ENQUIRER the last several weeks! With writers like Cliff Hightower & Dan Whisenhutt they must have nothing to write about other than negative topics that are not even news worthy stories. Furthermore this Mayor Ramsey article is not a story, just like the Missy Crutchfield articles are not news worthy stories. After reading this story about Mayor Ramsey, I thought so what. He's doing his job for goodness sakes!! Give me a freakin break Times Free Press and get off this negative talk & trying to make stories where there's not one!
Listen folks, before you can judge Missy you've got to give Missy and the city council the chance to discuss it before council committee next Tuesday. The truth will come out. I know Missy personally, and she would not be doing anything intentionally if she thought it was wrong. This BE website has been online since November 2009. This website has been no secret! She has not hidden this website. Take notice, there are no adverisements & no sponsorships of any kind on the website. Not before & not now! There's no evidence that she was profiting from the website with any type of advertising. She was simply using this website to enhance the marketing of her department.
Furthermore, what in the heck does her father have to do with this story?? Absolutely nothing!!!
I know for a fact the good that EAC & Missy have brought to our community. I would encourage everyone to go to chattanooga.gov and check some of it out for yourself.
Folks, chill out and let this process take its course!
I don't understand why Missy Crutchfield continues to be a target. It's rediculous!!! She and her department do a lot of great things for our city. If you take a look at her budget, she operates with very little. There's no sponsored advertisements on the Be website whatsoever, and its an additional way for her to market what's going on with Education, Arts & Culture. I see this website being a great partnering tool to assist in getting the word out & assist in marketing EAC programs.
I don't see what the big deal is! Don't we have serious issues to worry about?
