You raise an excellant point on wasteful government spending associated with farm subsidies. If our leaders were interested in reducing this county's debt there are other areas as well where they can find savings. Here's my list for starters:
0 drop the requirement for prevailing wages on federal projects (a gift to the unions)
0 get out of the United Nations (which we pay the lion's share of to support)
0 perform a top down review of government funding of commissions, boards, etc and eliminate funding for such foolishness as tea testing boards, etc
0 eliminate the Department Of Education (let the states control the school policies/testing/standards, etc)
0 stop sending our money overseas to countries who only resent us for it.
0 remove the thousands of troops stationed around the world, such as in Germany, South Korea and Japan. (the dollars they spend boost those countries' ecomonies and does nothing for ours)
0 secure our boarders (perhaps using some of the troops currently stationed abroad) and elimate the hugh costs associated with education, medical and law enforcement for illegal immigrants.
These are just for starters. Before Washington D.C. should ask for another dime in taxes we need to eliminate government waste.
I imagine that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. must be spinning in his grave after learning that his predecessor are Rev Al Sharpton and Rev. Jessie Jackson, both of whom have managed to enrich themselves by hi-jacking Dr. King's message. Yes the Liberals love to attack Sarlin Palin and Glenn Beck. How in anyway they showed disrespect for the late Dr. King is missed on me. If he were alive today he might very well have shared the stage with Palin and Beck in Washington, D.C. last week.
Same old liberal tactic! Call people names and accuse them of being racist! What other religion advocates killing "non-believers"?
Ever wonder why they have so many "holy" sites in Iraq and the Muslim world has month long religious celebrations, and so many attacks on the pilgrims there? We need to be more tolerant? Try carrying a bible in Saudia Arabia and witness tolerance first hand!
I never said that Bush was blameless in getting us into debt, but Obama takes the cake for tripling it. The Democrats were in control of the Senate and Congress for many of the Bush years. Bush and the Republicans paid for their free spending at the polls, and NOW it will be the Democrats turn to pay the price in Novemeber. Any wonder why they all all running away from Obama. I hope he campaigns for them all, as it worked out so well for him in VA, CT, and NY.
Facts always seem to get in the way of the Obama administration's agenda. The facts are that this president refuses to protect our borders, refuses to prosecute thugs at our polling places, doen't have a clue on how to help our ecomony, has inflated the national debt by trillions, and all the while continues to blame the Bush administration for all our woes. Ignorance is ignoring facts right in front of you, and blaming those who bring them to your attention. When you can't defend your position just resort to name calling and blame the messenger.
Obama isn't perfect? Thats an understatement! Vote for a Chicgo community organizer who never held a real job and what did you expect? His agenda was re-distribation of wealth and handouts for the Democratic base. The Democrats are running away from Obama in fear that they will lose their Senate and House seats, and thankfully many will, and we can start repairing the damage this president and his liberal minions have inficted on our country.
What offends me most is that this President is the most arrogant and self-centered president we have ever had, and pursues his agenda despite the fact that the majority of Americans disagree with him. While campaigning for hope and change, he has produced little of either. He has damaged race relations, and may be the last black, African-American,
bi-racial (take your pick) for many years to come. "Magic", not really, he just thinks he is.
