"A defense mechanism in which the individual attributes to other people impulses and traits that he himself has but cannot accept. It is especially likely to occur when the person lacks insight into his own impulses and traits."
"The externalisation of internal unconscious wishes, desires or emotions on to other people. So, for example, someone who feels subconsciously that they have a powerful latent homosexual drive may not acknowledge this consciously, but it may show in their readiness to suspect others of being homosexual."
"Attributing one's own undesirable traits to other people or agencies, e.g., an aggressive man accuses other people of being hostile."
"The individual perceives in others the motive he denies having himself. Thus the cheat is sure that everyone else is dishonest. The would-be adulterer accuses his wife of infidelity."
"People attribute their own undesirable traits onto others. An individual who unconsciously recognises his or her aggressive tendencies may then see other people acting in an excessively aggressive way."
Somebody at TFP got issues!
Oh mtn grl...how funny. I know for you low info types history began when GWB got elected, but Obamacare doesn't even go back that far.
Alpo...matter cannot be created nor destroyed.
Alpo...."The time for planning for the generations who will be directly affected by this new evolution is today. Dismissing it, making fun of those of us who recognize the need for such planning, is to dismiss many of those who will share your DNA when you are a distant memory."
Alpo, no matter what easyette may tell you, energy cannot be created, lost nor destroyed. Don't stay up nights worrying about it.
Alpo says...."There is no way that coal and oil are in any manner considered renewable sources of energy, unless of course, all plant and other life on the planet dies and we are recycled ourselves, with life reappearing thousands or millions of years in the future."
So you're saying once energy is extracted from the earth and used it is gone?
Easyette....this plant life which has decayed also had to be alive at some point and they lived as they do today via photosynthesis. You is correct, that's where solar comes in and is precisely what I meant by mother nature storing up some solar energy. Over simplified yes, sorry I confused you.
Oil and natural gas together make petroleum. Petroleum, which is Latin for “rock oil,” is a fossil fuel, meaning it was made naturally from decaying prehistoric plant and animal remains. It is a mixture of hundreds of different hydrocarbons molecules containing hydrogen and carbon that exist sometimes as a liquid (crude oil) and sometimes as a vapor (natural gas).
Easyette...this is from one of the links you posted....also google (or I know you like wiki) "Conservation of Mass"
alpo seez ...WTF
alpo, see my post at 9:15 to your buddy easyette....
easyette....I realize you have awesome google skills but I already knew the source. Now, let's not stop there but how do you suppose those decaying plants and animals got there in the first place. Would a little thing like photosynthesis come in to play? And if so where in the universe does that light come from? The sun perhaps? Can you say SOLAR? The next time you're in homeroom, crack open a chemistry book, it'll tell you all about it.
Easy-ette...."grad student" .....please enlighten me as to the source of oil and coal
