the simple solution is to let georgia take water if it does not affect those downstream on the tennessee which studies say it will not........so why not let georgia tap the river since that is what this is all about anyway..........
it goes way too far at this point and time to suggest moving the border (1818 was a long time ago!)
the disruption and hardship this will impose on those people that live in that swath of land is not justifiable whatsoever
adverse possession does not seem to apply to state boundaries but just because georgia CAN do this does not make it the RIGHT thing to do. the arrogance of the georgia legislature never ceases to amaze

Not only that, the 35th parallel does not just stop at tennessee so that would mean georgia is going to grab that portion of north carolina as well wouldn't it?
i lived in nevada in 1982 and we voted to include the portion below the 37th parallel into the state constitution. it had been ceeded by arizona in the late 1800's and was never included in the state constitution. if the measure had failed in 1982, it would have left the door open for the possibility of it to ceede from nevada and become its own state
