I have been meaning to drop you a note for a while to tell you how much I have been enjoying your posts lately; I wish that we could still give 'thumbs-up' to those we like. You seem to be very well-read and really keep up on current events.
Thank you for your very sweet words on today's thread (I'm tearing up thinking about it!). It is obvious from your posts that you have a very compassionate heart. What I experienced as a German growing up in the south was nothing at all compared to what Black Americans experienced; I feel guilty even complaining. There were, of course, lots of nice people like you as well and that made things more bearable.
BTW, your avatar makes me smile every time I see it. I don't know how much of a cat lover you really are, but have you checked out the silly LOL cat website? Whenever the TFP thread starts to raise my blood pressure I switch over to it for a couple of minutes for some cute and mindless comic relief. It's a quick little 'mood adjuster'. Cheap, legal, and only mildly addictive. ........I think I could use it today!
There was no real spat! I think you have a lot of valuable things to contribute, and now your posts are clear and articulate. Your experiences contain lessons valuable to all of us.
I'm staying away right now because a) I'm working 16 hour days and b) if I have to take on rolando I will probably say things I regret.
The CTFP is a great way to express one's views in a nice matter without people getting to out of hand. Since the site changes on here it has been great and it gives us more personality on here that we ever had before. Ms.Potcat you came at the right time and you would have hated the old system because it was so bland and dry.
I second Canary point that i only wish that they kept the like and dislike thumbing a post feature to the site but that is ok because we have the favorite staff and polls which is cool as a replacement for what they took away in the other department.
Over all Ms. Potcat the only other thing they need is a blogging feature for those who have that tallent for creative writing and such. I hope that the CTFP will add this as well as a deletion feature to delete messages that you wish not to keep on your profile page.
Most of us also think it was quite nice to add the Facebook/Twitter sign in feature to also give us posters another way to log on here and to share this great newspaper site with the whole world and though out the United States of America.
I will miss you and others, potcat. I intend to leave this forum for a couple of months just to have a "face-palm" free summer. I have decided it isn't worth the time, although I do admit it has been a good practice for articulating my thoughts (not that I have convinced anyone!) Anyhoo, stay safe.

Funny how the measured, sane posts are all liberals (our buddy chet may be the only exception) Although some conservative write some good, thoughtful stuff, most of them give me the feeling that they must wipe spit off their monitors frequently. I also would hesitate to let them know who I am for fear that they may find me (some seem rather unstable)
