I don't understand why business should be awarded to a company because of the owners gender. Why not give business to companies because they provide the best product for the best value? Same for hiring. Hire the person that is best qualified regardless of race or gender. This political correctness to appease special interest groups is just wrong.

I bet every one of those zombies went home to sit in their air conditioned homes with their TVs and lights on. Then cooked thier meals and heated their water to take a shower. Wonder what people will do when we can't burn coal, oil, or gas and there are no nuke plants to make power. After all the lessons learned over the past 30 years I'd rather live near a new nuke plant than an old one. However, I really don't mind living near an old one. But that's just me.

I noticed Justin Bieber on the country music awards was sporting the same look. At least his drawers were a dark color. It looked like he was trying to pull his shirt down around his butt to cover it. I wonder if his promoters have him dress that way. Stupid.

You're all assuming he cheated based on what a newspaper reporter wrote. It may look bad but it doesn't mean he DID cheat. I remember lots of people having someone type research papers for them in college back when computers were not so common. As for someone collecting his research material I'm not sure how to address that. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it all turns out. But I wouldn't be so quick to believe what any reporter has to say. They're looking for a story and they don't always added 2 and 2 and get 4.

I remember reading the first story of this family right after the storm and wondered how Andrew was doing. Thanks for the followup. We all need to remember those that are still struggling financially though and keep giving to whatever relief organizations we see doing the most good. Thanks again Mr. Carroll.

I don't think we have to worry about the ones that have been bumped off. Several of them will probably receive record deals just because of their exposure on Idol. I liked all of the final 12. Some just had better days than the others.

An email I just received (No I didn't research this):

Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table, At which he's fed. Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes Are the rule.
Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts anyway!
Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat.
Tax his ties, Tax his shirt, Tax his work, Tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he Tries to think. Tax his cigars, Tax his beers,
If he cries Tax his tears. Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find other ways To tax his ass.
Tax all he has
Then let him know That you won't be done Till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers; Then tax him some more, Tax him till
He's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave, Tax the sod in Which he's laid... Put these words Upon his tomb,
'Taxes drove me to my doom...' When he's gone, Do not relax, Its time to apply The inheritance tax. Accounts Receivable Tax Building Permit Tax CDL license Tax Cigarette Tax Corporate Income Tax Dog License Tax Excise Taxes Federal Income Tax Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA) Fishing License Tax Food License Tax Fuel Permit Tax Gasoline Tax (currently 44.75 cents per gallon) Gross Receipts Tax Hunting License Tax Inheritance Tax Inventory Tax IRS Interest Charges IRS Penalties (tax on top of tax) Liquor Tax Luxury Taxes Marriage License Tax Medicare Tax Personal Property Tax Property Tax Real Estate Tax Service Charge Tax Social Security Tax Road Usage Tax Recreational Vehicle Tax Sales Tax School Tax State Income Tax State Unemployment Tax (SUTA) Telephone Federal Excise Tax Telephone Federal Universal Service Fee Tax Federal, State and Local Surcharge Taxes Telephone Minimum Usage Surcharge Tax Telephone Recurring and Nonrecurring Charges Tax Telephone State and Local Tax Telephone Usage Charge Tax Utility Taxes Vehicle License Registration Tax Vehicle Sales Tax Watercraft Registration Tax Well Permit Tax Workers Compensation Tax

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY? Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the heck happened? Can you spell 'politicians?'

I talked to someone at East Brainerd Lumber that said they don't cut their own lumber anymore because workman's comp. got so expensive they couldn't afford to. When the government makes it too expensive to do business, who's going to do business? The reason there is no revolt is that too many of us are still too comfortable with what we have.
