It makes you appear more than simply unAmerican; it makes you a statist. Or aren't you aware that our Constitution [what is left of it] would disappear? Perhaps you don't care.
If you want to equate yourself with the world's lowest common denominator of humanity, feel free. But don't drag the rest of us down there with you; that's what our Dear Leader wants to do. I will have no part of a plan like his of world subjugation to a few self-styled wannabe elite statists.

You were on solid ground up until that last paragraph, una61. You have your beliefs on the subject...we have ours. They aren't mutually exclusive, you know, although some insist otherwise.

Unfortunately, our government does not know the meaning of "fiscal responsibility". Until it does, this DEPRESSION is most assuredly not a good thing.
Sure wish I had listened closer to what Mom and Dad had to say about their years coping with the first DEPRESSION...
[The article cites the 10.2% U-3 stat for unemployment. It is limited. The more in line with reality U-6 unemployment is now 17 1/2%. It includes the laid-off full-time workers who took a part-time job to tide them over while looking for full time. This is a full blown depression we are in.

And not a thought to two things -- 1] the jam behind the person backing into the slot [and how about the tailgaters who will also have to back up in the line of traffic] -- and 2] the accident caused when the driver zooms out of the slot upon leaving [without looking, of course].
Then there are the easily confused and the drunks who will think they are driving the wrong way upon seeing all those parking slots facing the other direction and happily do a U-Turn.
What can possibly go wrong here? I love the forethought given by our lawmakers...

Oops. Should have been "induce" vice "suborn".

Some things just cost too much to "work" [read most any social action run by the government].
And who is to say which worker is more for the nation; the one dragging the patient on the obscenely obese dead horse called HCF, or the one dragging his feet trying to beat some sense into the first guy's head?
I'm curious to see who the dead-horse dragger will suborn to get the 60 horsepower needed to drag the patient kicking and screaming into the [empty-of-doctors] ER...
Must be tough not having Lieberman pulling in front...but I am sure RINO-Snowe will again be induced to take his place and "save" the good boys and girls in the striped pants. [Probably for much less than Landrieu's $300 million worth of oats...]
-----------------------------
Good cartoon, Clay; although I am surprised the two guys aren't labeled with the two parties... I can guess which would be labeled which.

And if it keeps cooling off? What's safe about freezing weather? You want those polar bears in YOUR backyard, McGee. I thought not.
The Earth is going to warm or chill as it darn well pleases and nothing piddly mankind does will change that. We are like a poot in a hurricane on that issue.
It is about nothing but control and pork.
You worry about CO2? Want to reduce it for some reason? Demand the UN outlaw all clearcutting of forests and the cutting of our world's rain forests. Green things eat CO2 for breakfast...

All those willing to take a Gitmo grad into their homes please raise your hand... ah, a little higher maybe... never mind.
As I thought. Put them on trial and they walk away. Guaranteed. No advising of rights, remember. Nothing gathered before that happened is admissible.
That's one I hadn't thought of, Lightnup. Silly me.
Bush solved the problem; they aren't out there killing us again, now, are they? Wait 'til after the trial collapses. Next time some one will hopefully take them out.

Once again, anything that solves the problem is a constructive solution...by definition.
Things that make the problem worse, such as passing it off to others, is a negative solution.
Positive? A bullet in the head, preferably two. Have his buddies bury him. Works well for the mob. Solves all kinds of problems.
Negative? Mealy-mouthed, wussy refusal to face up to reality because it is unpleasant, maybe?? Having someone else do the dirty work. Why else does the rest of the world let us solve it? Because it is our problem...we let them live, we brought them here to live in luxury...our problem.
That may be a bit blunt and way too straight-forward for some here, but these are cold-blooded, calculating killers...they are not the sweet family next door.
Know how many killers got off on the technicality of not being advised of their rights? We treat them like Americans and they get the full treatment.

There were past indications that the closing of Chrysler dealerships were possibly connected with campaign contributions made in the last election. All but one of the remaining dealerships contributed heavily to one party, the remainder [plus one low-contributer] contributed to the other party.
Care to do a little investigative reporting, Mr Lazenby? Perhaps the same would turn up for the GM dealers...and wouldn't that be interesting?
