Hey Clay, how much money do you make? Your readers (the ones who pay your salary) have a right2know.
OK, Mr. Free Press Editorial Writer, I agree with those who are asking for your salary, along with your publisher, editors, dept. heads, columnists. Subscribers (bill-payers) have a right2know, especially since your prices keep going up. How about it? You can start with yours, don't be shy. You're all about open information, aren't you? So what's the starting salary for a brand-new editorial writer? I'm sure your fellow TFP heroes won't mind revealing theirs too, because they demand openness.
Mr. Cook, while you are correct about the emptiness and dishonesty of Greg Vital's campaign, if you actually have something of substance to say, spit it out. You need to get over this case of the "cutes" and start making points, instead of attempting to be clever.
Wow, it must get old drawing the same basic cartoon, over and over....
"I am known for mixing public policy, investigative journalism and punditry." Really? Known by who? If you're so "known" why do you have to tell us what a delightful pundit you are? How about this: get over yourself, put together a decent body of work over a period of time, and then the readers will decide what you're "known" for.
And JonRoss, don't hold your breath waiting for any coverage of the TFP unionization issue. You'll have to read other media outlets for that. The TFP loves to stick it's nose in other company's business, but chooses to look the other way in-house.
Along with the fact that most of this story is ripped off from wrcbtv.com, there are also some wild charges here. Where is the documentation that Mr. Agee was about to get demoted in DeKalb County? Can you provide proof of this? It seems like the TFP and Mr. Cook are hoping and praying this man fails at Brainerd High School. What an interesting agenda. Have you reported the annual decline in test scores at Brainerd under Mr. Joynes' leadership? Didn't think so. It's on the web. Do your job.
Wow, the right-hand side of the editorial page rips Scottie Mayfield. Lee Anderson would be furious.
What's taking you so long, Times lefty page? We know you want to endorse Berke, go ahead. It's in the bag, it's in the bank. The machine has spoken.
I read the column and laughed out loud. The big boss at WTVC-9 is upset because the TFP dropped his station in favor of WRCB-3, and is now surprised that the paper gives Channel 3 more space. Now that's funny. As I recall, Channel 3's weatherman trained Channel 9's weatherman. I'll go with the teacher, every time.
ACT score of 14? And 88% of students graduate? How, exactly? And why don't schools with an ACT of 19 or 20 (like many others in the county) have a 99% graduation rate? Something doesn't add up here. Did this writer tell the whole story, or is it just PR?
