My God.....How many more shootings will have to happen before people wake up? ...and the "income producing" tourists will show up to see the big blue pull toy before or after they've read about the gun violence in our great city? Okay, some questions: Where was the toddler and the 17 year old? Were they out on the street after 9pm on a Sunday? Why? If so, where were their parents? As for the rest, common sense these days points to "not hanging out" after dark anymore-I am not blaming the victims here-whoever shot at them deserves what he gets, but I still see this as a "responsibility of the community"-starting with parenting-real parenting at home and the community standing up against thuggery-it's totally out of control- yes, the City Council needs to re-prioritize-instead of spending money on art (which is a nice thing) to attract tourists is backwards logic- who's gonna want to come here and dodge bullets while looking at a giant pull toy?
