I am currently going through a divorce, and my son has been tardy 19 times (17 unexcused) so far this year (he had 21 last year and 18 the year before that). All of his tardies for 2007, except 1 are recorded days that fall on ones when his mother takes him. The last tardy occurred on 03/27 and he didn't arrive in class until 9:55 A.M. I was so glad to see this article, because his tardiness due to her irresponsibility is teaching him a bad habit. He attends a magnet school, and could lose him eligibility to stay enrolled there if he acrrues 3 more tardies before the end of this year.
