At the next election , remember the five city council members who voted for the 19% increase in property taxes this year. They are LADD,ROBINSON,BERZ,RICO and BENSON. In reading this article, it appears that RICO and BERZ have seen the light.
Too bad LITTLEFIELD is so arrogant. He reminds me of Obama on the national stage. No managerial skills with the answer always being more money for the government to solve problems. Chattanooga deserves better.
The council members who voted against the 19% increase are MURPHY,SCOTT,McGARY and GILBERT. We need more people like these in local government.
A special thank you to Bill Raines who headed the blue ribbon panel which battled against the massive stormwater fee increase proposed by Littlefield (and it was a battle).
He saved the citizens of Chattanooga over $10,000,000 but has recieved very little recognition.
Suggestion. Privitize the fire department. Get rid of the union and the constant whining.
While his words may have been better chosen , the message he expressed is correct. Enough of "political correctness". As Americans , we had better start calling a spade a spade and deal with our real problems that exist. The problems won't get better while we play a game of semantics.
I voted for Savas and am proud of it. In my opinion , he is the best one running.
Let me see , black panthers are allowed to intimidate voters in Philadelphia but T party logos on clothes get you kicked out of polling places.
Another example of government ineptitude.
Everyone should see the youtube video posted by allison12. This is very enlightening. Littlefield is not a good steward of taxpayer money and his dealings are not above board. We better watch him until we can vote him out of office.
Best I remember , this site was going to be a homeless shelter in the past according to Ron.
I agree with another post- if the current owners can't sell the site , why would the city want it???
That is , unless , the city is given written assurance from the State & EPA that there is no problem with the site from an environmental prespective.
Another example of the sad state of our country. We , as a people, will pay.
I don't know how Congress can critize banks for not reading the foreclosure documents. They routinely pass legislation that they have never read ie: Obamacare and Finreg.
Vote them all out on November 2nd and let's get a new group to represent us. Whoever we elect can't be any worse than what we now have.
