Jay - The week after vacation is tough. No sand, no co-colas with lunch, gotta wear shoes all day. For the mailbag - Can the Broncos win a Superbowl before Peyton Manning retires?
Still researching the theory of co-colas tasting better with toes in the sand. Running low on samples. With 2 days of research remaining do I restock fully or switch to the nectar of agave?
In no particular order, Marge Simpson, Edith Bunker, Peggy Bundy, and Carmela Soprano.
Jay-on the gulf coast confirming your theory about co-colas. So far I concur but I need a few more days to be sure. Sergio was one bad round by Rory away from a major championship. 6 under in the final round made Rory hear footsteps. I still believe he's got a major in him. Ready for football. High school, college, and nfl. For the mailbag. What are 5 things i need to watch for this fall?
Jay- For the mailbag. I saw a highlight on Sportscenter top 10 plays earlier this week that featured a play from an ultimate frisbee tournament game. Got me thinking. What's your Rushmore of non-traditional sports?
Jay-left the office at 5:15 to start the holiday weekend. Heard the last 45 mins of Press Row but had to deal with a couple final calls on the way to the hacienda. I can't believe Risky Business didn't make the Rushmore list. For your consideration:
All the Right Moves was made by Lea Thompson (not Cruise)
A Few Good Men was made by Nicholson
Rainman was made by Hoffman
Top gun was made by Kelly McGillis
So, I submit that Tom Cruise is a decent supporting actor. Not necessarily deserving of a Rushmore That's about it.
Jay-thanks for the response. In boxing, if a bout ends by decision, then the guy that took the whipping ought to be declared the winner for taking all the other guy had without falling out. Just saying...
Jay - I was out and about this afternoon and had a chance to listen in on Press Row. Good stuff Got a little tired of the I hate/I love soccer but you, David, and Wells handled it well. As for me, I'll watch any sport where they keep score or win a head to head race. I don't consider events with judges a sport worth my time (diving, ice skating, gymnastics, etc.). For the mailbag, and feel free to ask Wells and David to provide answers as well...what got you interested in sports (as opposed to something else)? While I played organized sports as a kid, for me, I think it was my dad taking me to sporting events as a very young lad.
Jay- welcome back. As you know, I'm older than I look, but Casey Kasem wasn't in my wheelhouse growing up. However, put me down for Barnes, Leslie, and Jimmy during morning drive time on 99X in the ATL. In the mid 90's I spent a lot of time stuck in am trafiic in Atlanta and they made me laugh out loud in my car which made the commute almost tolerable.
Jay - a rare moment during the day, but about to head to another meeting. For the record, you're a gem, but that's not why I'm posting. For the mailbag, what's your best and worst takeaways from your time hosting/managing/prepping for/and attending the BOP's over the years?
