I recently did research on the use of cell phones and discovered that you are 4 times more likely to be killed by a distracted driver than a firearm. Yet the media focuses on firearms. Cell phone related accidents make up over half of the distracted driving accidents. Many state laws treat it as a misdemeanor and most states do not even check to see if cell phones were involved in accidents. Tennessee is one of the exceptions. Although I doubt that even there it is truly enforced by most counties. My heart goes out to the woman for her loss, but she is not alone by any means.
