I try to be a man of compassion. I try to be a man of understanding. This story goes beyond any human capacity for either. I hope this irresponsible, useless child never gets to walk outside of a prison for the rest of his life. Being the father of an infant son myself, I know that frustration comes from lack of sleep and the sharp learning curve of fatherhood, but you understand that your child is a blessing and they are learning how to live in this world and you look on them with a love you cannot explain. I will not refer to this child as a man or a father. If he fit either discription, he never would have considered trying to smother his own son. Hopefully, now he will become the reason we spend taxpayer money on prison cells; to house people who are unfit to live outside their walls. I hope this baby boy survives and learns what it is to be loved by a father and is allowed to forget the person who fertilized his mother.
