I am not understanding why the first thing these "big office folk" do when hit with a budget crisis is try to hit the people that are needed the most. Teachers already endure so much in the classroom that I lot of people would never understand. To be the lowest paid but the most important and now the thought of higher prices to pay for insurance and may even be out of a job makes it even worse! They should not even consider closing not a one school until they go into central office and cut over half of the positions there. While they are speaking of small schools costing money, what about these small, insignificant jobs at central office that pay top dollar? If teachers were allowed to make more decisions in the classroom, many of these positions at central office could be eliminated.
