Riverbend should be a completely smoke-free event on all 9 nights. Maybe next year they will ban smoking all together so we all can enjoy Riverbend.

It's time to close this zoo down completely. They have so few animals to begin with and the zoo is an embarrassment to the city. Another option would be to move the zoo out to a rural area with more land and better facilities.

The entire Riverbend Festival should be non-smoking. Second hand smoke kills even when the event is outside. Smoking should be banned citywide.

Because it's your choice to smoke and be overweight. You are born gay, but you are not born a smoker and you are not born fat.

Why would the republicans in charge want to allow anti-gay discrimination in this state? Gays are a minority that already suffers enough from bullying, job and housing discrimination, a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. Enough already with the laws bashing and trashing gays. They pay taxes and are a part of the fabric of Tennessee. This is what happens when too many republicans get into office. They run on fiscal issues, then when they get into office, they gut gay rights, unions and the middle class.

Finally a new IHOP in Brainerd. The old store was too small and cramped inside. I was wondering what was going up across the street from Bud's Sports Bar, now we all know. Perfect location with tons of parking. I hope this new location succeeds.
