FOOTBALLMOM, you are right it is the adults who are at fault. However, I have read your comments... oh those poor kids from SM huh?
"You guys had no problem being in the spotlight when it was all good, did ya? Reap what you sow...I just hope TSSAA digs a little deeper" "The whole team is gonna have to be punished, that is the only way to teach everyone (not just Signal) that TSSAA is watching and you will get caught and you will pay the PRICE if you cheat!"
LIKE I SAID... HYPOCRIT!!!!

Thank you WacondaVol, I'm glad somebody finally sees the big picture here. Any bylaws that punishes a bunch of innocent kids for something they had nothing to do with is asinine. The faculty made a mistake... right or wrong it has nothing to do with the players. TSSAA needs to reconsider their punishments. I hate to see this happen to the SM kids but would not want to see it happen to another team either.
Oh but wouldn't it be something if you could file one for each school. All the people who have been bashing Signal Mountain would be eating crow. Especially all the schools around here (i.e. East Hamilton, Soddy Daisy, Red Bank, Bradley, Cleveland, Bledsoe, Sequatchie, South Pitt). Not to mention schools elsewhere (Alcoa, Maryville, Greeneville, Smyrna, Trousdale, etc).
I'm sorry... did I really just say it happens everywhere? :) That's right no one does anything wrong but SM
fball2011fan...this will not happen to me or my kids because I will follow the rules and NOT try to cheat the system!
MemphisGuy25, your arrogance is ridiculous. To laugh at this situation when it is only hurting a bunch of kids really shows your true character. What you seem to not be able to comprehend is that the faculty and the TSSAA are to blame here not the kids. However, it's not hurting anyone as much as it is hurting the players and Tim. And for you to be so arrogant and say "this will not happen to me or my kids because I will follow the rules and NOT try to cheat the system" is amusing. Are you their coach, do you have control of what goes on? Most parents do not have control of the coaches, etc... So unless you are in control you are sadly mistaking if you think this can not happen to them. The truth is all schools, public and private could have this happen. So if I were you I would keep the gloating to a minimum because you never know.
LOL... footballmom, you make me laugh. What a hypocrite you are. You want to chastise my3boys for their comment (to 1982indian who I doubt is a child). Why are you not chastising all these other people who keep making negative comments about Signal Mountain during this whole situation? Yes it was the faculty that made the mistake but ultimately it is only hurting the kids, especially the seniors. People are calling the kids cheaters and worse but you are not jumping to their defense.
You are right; they are just kids, including the players from SM who have been wronged in this situation. You want to throw idle threats around, but being a "footballmom" you would be even less happy if this was happening to your children. If the roles were reversed all the "classy" peopel from Sequatchie would certainly show their true selves.
Memphisguy25, I just wish you knew as much as you think you do.
The fight with Baylor: this fight was started when their assistant coach Eric Westmoreland came out on the field and took a swing at a Signal Mountatin player, but I guess that is okay since it is Baylor.
The fight at Trousdale: the altercation at Trousdale did not include any of the football team it occured when a Trousdale fan came out onto the field and tackeld the Signal Mountain mascot just because they can.
The fight with Soddy: What was again left out of all of the media hype was Soddy Daisy started the altercation again after starting one earlier with both Central and Cleveland in the same day. Also the student who was punched was done so after he hit the parent in the back of the head who was trying to seperate two players. Oh but that's right, nobody else but somebody from Signal would just react when being attacked from behind.
Last but certainly not least: drunk kids... Really, you think kids in every school across America does not drink? Better than that, the alligations were not overlooked they were handled by the administration, and the coaches.
Signal Mountain gets such a bad name from people like you who only know what goes thru the rumor mill and what the press "chooses" to release. Get a grip on life and on reality!!!!!
Polinc, really... I can't believe you would use Layne and the word ethical in the same sentence. The man has no ethics... Furthermore, he sure did not report his own student Ethan Hickman who played for them in 2009 and lived in Hamilton County. If you don't think this happens at all schools you are very naive, please get a grip on reality. Nothing happens at Signal Mountain High School that doesn't happen all over the country.
Also, anyone can accidentally click the wrong box when filling out an online form. If you truly don't think that it could be an accident then you need to shut down your computer and never log back on. Honestly, Bill Price may be a lot of things but he is not stupid enough to intentionally jeopardize the entire program.
This whole situation is lunacy. All of you dullard's who think this was recruiting are showing your true ignorance. It is sad that you all can not see past this mistake and realize that it is hurting a bunch of kids. You are all quick to throw stones but if it were your children being punished for something that was out of their control you would be irate as well. I am not saying that rules have not been broken here, but it was truly a mistake. To punish the children instead of just the ones who made the mistake is asinine.
As far as Sequatchie County... The timing on this couldn't be more perfect. Bringing this to light now ensures that the Signal Mountain football team will not be able to recover and be eligible for the playoffs. This is very convenient for TSSAA board member and Principal of Sequatchie County High School, Tommy Layne. With Signal Mountain being stripped of their wins Sequatchie County will automatically progress to the playoffs.
Sequatchie County should not be throwing stones at glass houses...
