To HannaBeckman: You don't know the whole story obviously. My husband got arrested once because of having an argument with me that didn't involve leaving any physical harm to me at all. He went to 6 months of anger management classes & was a changed man. He had a driving / insurance issue & resolved it and is an insured, licensed driver now. He only had minor things on his record like anyone else. He's a super dad cause he played with my children, bought them what he needed & loved them for 8 years when their birth father (American) abandoned them. I can't get arrested for "harboring" because we filed to get his visa twice & he was only denied because I myself didn't make $26,000 a year that the government requires. You obviously don't know the process & how difficult it is to be approved for a visa - doesn't mean we didn't try. And like I mentioned before, he paid his taxes yearly & followed every other law of the land. I was just waiting to buy a home & get a raise & then I was going to reapply for his visa. He got returned to Mexico only because he didn't have his visa & because our lawyer stole our $2,500 and ran basically. He had a clear record when he was taken out of the country. You have no clue what my family is dealing with, missing someone who meant a lot to them. Why don't you get a soul, you poor sad creature?

To Perla: Thanks for believing in me and my family and publishing a beautiful & honest story. I am extremely thankful. To everyone else: My husband is bi-lingual, pays his taxes, is not on any public assitance, took care of my family, goes to church, has a driver's license & is a great guy. He only had two small instances which had landed him in jail & they were not that big of a deal. He's not a "wife-beater" and he's not the stereotypical hispanic. He couldn't get his Visa cause I myself didn't meet the financial requirements. The government makes it unattainable & unaffordable. People should be more open minded to see all sides of the story & not be so judgmental when they don't know the whole story. He was the best dad he could be to my kids for the last 8 years & took care of them. Their biological father is American, is over $60,000 behind in his child support & never calls them ever... he's also made 4 more kids of his own and is on all kinds of government assistance... and he's American. So you people should think about that one for a while... instead of jumping to incorrect conclusions.

My first comment was from Tuesday morning 3/29/11. Today I have since found out new information from a very informative ICE officer/rep in another state. All I am saying, is that people that are simply here undocumented, but follow ALL the other laws, should be allowed to remain here in the states while they file their immigration paperwork and go through that lengthy process - like my wonderful husband, and my kids' sweet Papi. Everyone has to realize these immigrants have families, lives, and souls, too... they don't all commit horrible, violent crimes. You can't stereotype people.

This new immigration law HAS already started in Bradley Co. and it has directly affected my spouse right now. ICE took him this morning & no one seems to know where he's at now. It was a very simple offense, so crazy the judge threw it out & the officer actually felt it was a waste of his time... but the ICE officials got him today & I haven't heard another word. This is VERY upsetting & has already turned my family's world upside down - my kids want their Papi back, too. They can let Americans go free for drug dealing, but want to keep my husband away from me for something as simple as what he did. He doesn't do drugs, he doesn't commit DUIs, he pays his taxes, and he has a license! THIS IS NOT JUSTICE & I demand some answers! I won't stop until someone is held accountable for giving some honest information to me.

It is a very sad situation for the kids and every family involved. I have known Kenny for years, as his kids have attended school with mine, and he was also my son's first baseball coach when my son was 5. So sad.
