The recent assault on medicare by the far right seems to have hit a huge push back. The recent election in NY would lead most political pundits to concur that Congressman Ryan's budget propaosal and more specifically the desire to privatize medicare is a non-starter. What needs to been is to fully fund the program and allow health insurance companies to work hand-an-glove with the goverment to make the medicare program more expansive at the same time controlling cost. This approach of course is very sucessful with TRICARE. Moreover, the partnership with Hummana Healthcare which provides healthcare to military servicemembers, family members, and retirees in southern part of the United States.
