The Tennessee Valley Authority is celebrating its 75th anniversary this month. The TVA Act was signed into law by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on May 18, 1933. Seven years later, in 1940, the Chickamauga Dam was completed. The dam still operates using the same basic engineering that is 68 years old, with some upgrades.
