Jesse Mathews, the man accused of killing Chattanooga police Sgt. Tim Chapin during a botched Brainerd Road robbery on April 2, 2011, was back in court Thursday. During the hearing, Hamilton County Criminal Court Judge Barry Steelman heard arguments both for and against a gag order that has been in place for the past two weeks. Steelman said he would take the order under consideration and scheduled the next hearing to check on the pretrial status of the case for Oct. 26.
