On the tenth floor of the Tennessee Valley Authority's Knoxville offices, the river operations and forecast center operates 24/7. The center monitors more than 652-miles of navigable water throughout the Tennessee Valley and hundreds more miles of tributaries. During heavy rain events like we're experiencing, the center works to minimize and eliminate flooding throughout the region.
