Sewanee Organize and Act will hold a voting awareness event on Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. at the Sewanee Community Center.
Assistant politics professor Clint Swift will explain how gerrymandering works and the complexities of race, class and gender.
A panel of local community members who are experienced in getting people registered to vote will discuss effective methods and what people can do to get the community involved in voting, especially as the midterm elections are approaching in November.
