Two separate incidents of rape were reported to the Chattanooga Police Department over the weekend.
The incidents occurred in the Brainerd and Hixson areas, and detailed geographical information will not be released to protect the victims, a news release from the police department stated.
Both victims were more than 60 years old, and each described their attacker as a black male, between 5 feet nine inches and six feet tall, with braided hair, according to the release.
Investigators are following multiple leads in both cases and working to determine if they are related, police said.
Information that will not jeopardize the safety of the victims or the integrity of the case will be released as it is available, and anyone with information is asked to call 423-698-2525.
