At 3:00 a.m. on Christmas morning a Chattanooga police officer reported hearing gun shots near the 1400 block of E. 3rd St.
Responding officers arrived to Darius Blakemore, 26, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his right leg surrounded by multiple individuals who were tending to him. Blakemore stated that he did not know the individuals who shot at him and did not provide police with any further information. According to police, the individuals tending to Blakemore refused to cooperate and no other witnesses were located.
Blakemore was transported to a hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening wound.
