Red Cross shelters provide relief in North Georgia

Red Cross shelters across North Georgia will open again tonight to house residents affected by power outages and inclement weather. The following shelters will be open through tonight:

Forsyth County

Freedom Tabernacle Church, 2160 Freedom Parkway, Cumming, GA 30041

Hall County

First Baptist Church, 751 Green St., Gainesville, GA 30501

Gilmer County

Gilmer County Middle School Gym, 1860 S. Main Street, Ellijay, GA 30540

All residents should remember to wear layers, bring pets inside, and watch for symptoms of hypothermia confusion, dizziness, exhaustion and shivering. Space heaters should be kept on a hard and level surface and stoves should never be used to heat a home.
