Mr. and Mrs. Donald Strope, Jefferson City, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today with a Mass and dinner at Westphalia Knights of Columbus Hall for family and friends. A trip to Alaska was taken in July. Donald Strope and Dorothy Ortmeyer were married October 21, 1967, at Immaculate Conception Church, Jefferson City. Msgr. Gerald Kaiser officiated. They were attended by Carol (Gerbes) Ousley, Jefferson City; Catherine (Ortmeyer) Engelbrecht, Jefferson City; Claire Ann (Strope) Huhn, Folk; Mary Ellen (Strope) Brunnert, Carthage; Faye (Engelbrecht) Doerhoff, Jefferson City; Debbie (Gerbes) Kirk, Roy, Utah; James Huhn, Folk; Lloyd Ousley, Jefferson City; Larry Lueckenotto, Meta; Roger Braun, Jefferson City; Adam Engelbrecht, deceased; and Leander Strope, deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Strope have three children: Scott Strope and his wife Dawn, Jefferson City; Tania Lock and her husband Dennis, Jefferson City; and Travis Strope, deceased. They also have six grandchildren: Hayley Strope, Matthew Strope, Gage Lock, Parker Lock, Cooper Lock, and Callie Lock.
