Miranda Hubble, Jefferson City, and Brian Backes, Frankenstein, were married at 1 p.m., September 23, 2017, at Our Lady, Help of Christians Catholic Church, Frankenstein. Father Dan Merz performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Steve and Lauren Hubble, Jefferson City. The groom is the son of Kenny and Sherry Backes, Frankenstein. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a ball gown style in champagne with touches of lace and beading on the top with a tulle skirt and cathedral-length veil. She carried a multi-colored cascading bouquet of flowers adorned with broaches from the bride and groom's grandmothers, along with the groom's grandmother's rosary wrapped around the handle. The honor attendant was Laurel Uballez, friend of the bride. The attendants were Jennifer Backes, sister-in-law of the groom; Kimberly Backes, sister-in-law of the groom; Amber Backes, sister-in-law of the groom; Miranda Backes, sister-in-law of the groom; Dawn Grothoff, friend of the bride; Taylor Elliott, friend of the bride; and Lauren Pierce, friend of the bride. The best man was Cole Backes, brother of the groom. The groomsmen included: Dusty Backes, brother of the groom; Chad Backes, brother of the groom; Wes Backes, brother of the groom; Tanner Hubble, brother of the bride; Evan Kliethermes, friend of the groom; Caleb Bax, friend of the groom; and Art Fick, friend of the groom. The miniature bride was Kenzie Backes, daughter of Wes and Amber Backes, niece and goddaughter of the groom. The miniature groom was Hayden Backes, son of Dusty and Jen Backes, nephew and godson of the groom. The flower girls were Callie Backes, daughter of Wes and Amber Backes, niece of the groom and goddaughter of the bride; and Kendra Brandt, daughter of Jeff and Janell Brandt. The ring bearers were Brady Backes, nephew of the groom, son of Cole and Miranda Backes; Jase Backes, nephew of the groom, son of Dusty and Jen Backes; Boyd Backes, nephew of the groom, son of Wes and Amber Backes; Bo Backes, nephew of the groom, son of Cole and Miranda Backes; and Max Backes, nephew of the groom, son of Dusty and Jen Backes. The ushers were Sam Kremer, Tyler Jaegers, and Joe Mebruer, all friends of the groom. The pianist was Betty Roden, aunt of the groom, and the vocalist was Sheena Halmich, cousin of the groom. The Mass servers were Devin and Trevor Brandt, and Hannah Hackmann. The lectors were Audrie Hubble, cousin of the bride, and Danielle Backes, cousin of the groom. Offertory was presented by Scott and Bonnie Hubble, uncle and aunt of the bride; Ruth Neuner, aunt and godmother of the groom; and Dennis Backes, uncle and godfather of the groom. A dinner and dance reception followed the ceremony at the Loose Creek Community Center. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was held September 22, 2017, at their home. The bride is a 2009 graduate of Jefferson City High School; a 2016 graduate of Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Human Services. She is currently attending Stephens College pursuing a Master of Education with a dual emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Counseling. She is employed with Capital Region Physicians - Center for Mental Wellness. The groom is a 2009 graduate of Fatima High School and a 2012 graduate of State Technical College of MO with an Associates in Electrical Distribution Systems. He is a Journeyman Lineman with Three Rivers Electric Co-Op, Linn. After a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple resides in Frankenstein.
